Owner’s Pokémon have returned to the Pokémon Trading Card Game (or TCG) in 2025, having been reintroduced in the Japanese set, Battle Partners. It looks like they’re here to stay for now too, as new set Heat Wave Arena also includes them.
With familiar faces such as Misty (not to mention her poor Psyduck; all these years later, I’m still not happy about how she treated that Pokémon in the show!) coming back to the game, let’s take a look at the cards that have been revealed for the Pokémon TCG’s Heat Wave Arena set so far!

ToggleHeat Wave Arena: Main Set Card Gallery
The Japanese Pokémon TCG set, Heat Wave Arena, is a smaller set, with only 63 cards. You can identify cards from the set with the sv9a set code (found in the bottom left of the card, next to each individual card’s set number). Here are the cards that have been revealed so far for the Heat Wave Arena main set:

Of course, with the cards being in Japanese, it may not be immediately obvious what each one is. So here’s a list of the cards; note that the names of some cards may change when they’re officially translated into English later this year:

What Other Cards Will Be Released Alongside the Heat Wave Arena Set?
In addition to the cards in the Heat Wave Arena set, three Promo cards will be available (shown above). Pokémon fans will be able to get their hands on these cards by purchasing a Heat Wave Arena booster box; each box will be accompanied by a booster pack containing these three Promo cards. The cards feature artwork by the winners of the 2024 Pokémon Trading Card Game Illustration Contest, and as such have a special logo in the bottom right of the card, as you can see in the above images.
When Will Heat Wave Arena Be Released?
The release date for Heat Wave Arena is March 14th, 2025. If normal release patterns are followed, we expect that most, if not all, of the cards in Heat Wave Arena will head West in May, in the English language set The Glory of Team Rocket. With Main Set and Secret Rare cards to be revealed in the weeks leading up to the release of Heat Wave Arena, we’ll continue to update the lists and galleries here; watch this space!
