Welcome To Card Gamer

welcome to card gamer

Today, is launch day and we couldn’t be more excited… or nervous!

First of all, welcome to Card Gamer and thank you so much for taking the time to visit our website, it truly means the world to us.

We can’t wait to start creating high quality content for you, and showing you around what we already have to offer!

Let’s fill you in with what Card Gamer is, who runs it and what we want it to become over the coming years.

What is Card Gamer?

Card Gamer is an independent publication ran by a group of incredibly passionate nerds, owned by Click Hill which is ran independently by Brandon Saltalamacchia our Founder.

Card Gamer is a publication dedicated to keeping card gamers up to date with the latest news, we’ll test products to help you make the correct buying decisions, and we’ll help you by creating useful guides based on your favourite card games.

Being independently owned, we are not biased, or held accountable by a board of investors with an incentive to purely increase profits. We run this site authentically using talented passionate human creatives that are paid fairly instead of using AI to mass produce content.

The Card Gamer Team

about us

Let’s meet the team behind the brand.

First, is the talented Jason Brown, our main freelance editor here at Card Gamer. Jason has worked with us on our sister brand Retro Dodo for a number of years, but is now stepping over to Card Gamer to help with creating professional content for you all to consume.

Jason started working in the gaming industry back in the 2000’s, and ever since has been addicted to card games and table top gaming.

You will see a lot of Jason’s work over the coming months and years, he is a wizard with words and we are beyond blessed to have him on the team.

Then there’s Brandon Saltalamacchia, the founder of Card Gamer and Retro Dodo. You will likely see Brandon on our YouTube channel, as he has a passion for creating video content about the things he loves.

Brandon started playing card games back in the late 90’s when he was introduced to the Pokemon TCG, and it was the moment when he pulled a holo Machamp from a base set pack that changed his life for the better.

Brandon manages the team, keeps the website in order, and builds out the strategy to grow the brand in the right direction using SEO, marketing and social media magic.

And last but not least it’s like you will see Ryan Easby, and Emma Flint floating around the site, creating content on all types of card games from Pokemon to Yu-Gi-Oh!

They are both incredibly talented, passionate, and genuinely lovely people to work with, they also write for Retro Dodo too, so you know their content is top notch!

Our Goal For Card Gamer

card gamer homepage

Our goal is to build a modern online hub to learn about all things card games, created by passionate humans that you can engage with, all while joining a community of like-minded nerds that love the same games as you.

Launching a new publication in 2023 isn’t going to be easy, we are competing with large media companies who have lots of cash, and smaller sites that use AI to publish hundreds of pieces of content a day for pennies.

Many would see this as a stupid time to launch, but we disagree.

Now more than ever the card gaming industry needs a publication that they can trust, that’s independently ran, and works with freelancers in the space that are paid fairly with a work schedule that is flexible.

Thank you, for taking the time to read this and we hope you enjoy what we have to offer, and we hope you can watch us grow over the coming years, and to hopefully become your go to source for card gaming news, reviews and guides.

Happy gaming! <3
