With excitement around the launch of Disney’s first ever Trading Card Game – Lorcana – at fever pitch, it’s no surprise that game publisher Ravensburger has already announced a release date for the game’s second set, way in advance of the first cards hitting stores.
When Is Disney Lorcana Set 2 Due For Release?
Publisher Ravensburger’s plans were revealed in an exclusive article on GamesRadar back in March 2023 – so this isn’t new information – but the second set for Disney Lorcana is due to be launched on November 17th, 2023.
What Do We Know About Disney Lorcana Set 2?
Unlike the launch set – known as The First Chapter – we currently don’t have a name for the second collection of Disney Lorcana cards.
Nor do we know anything about the cards that’ll be featured in the set at this point.
However, you can be sure that we will feature every card as they’re revealed, just as we did with our Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter Card List gallery.
That said, with 100 years of rich history to draw from, you can be sure that plenty of well known – and, no doubt, many more less familiar – characters are going to make their debuts in the second set of Disney Lorcana.
Will There Be More Sets of Disney Lorcana?
There certainly will be.
We also know that, unsurprisingly, the second set will be followed by a third – Ravensburger have also revealed that they intend to release four sets per year, so we can likely expect the third set to hit store shelves just a few months into 2024!
It’s likely we will see new cards based on characters not seen yet, for example Woody, buzz Lightyear, Daisy Duck, Pinocchio, Pocahontus etc.
Where Can I Get Disney Lorcana?
Though Disney Lorcana’s first set has been released – and is in the hands of many fans already – stock of the game has been somewhat difficult to come by for many people.
Independent game stores were the first to get their stock of Disney Lorcana, with a two week head start on national retailers.
Ravensburger intend to follow this pattern for the release of subsequent sets too, in order to build communities and schedule events that larger retailers aren’t able to focus on.
If you’re still finding it difficult to get Disney Lorcana, know that Ravensburger are reprinting The First Chapter – so more stock will be on the way soon.
Do check with retailers in your area, both independent and otherwise, as you may find stock available – just be careful that you’re paying no more than the recommended retail price for the Disney Lorcana products you’re looking to purchase.
Are Disney Lorcana Cards Worth Collecting?
Currently, there are certain cards that are highly sought after by collectors – which has seen their value absolutely skyrocket.
For example, Enchanted cards – which you can see a full list of in our all Disney Lorcana Enchanted cards article – are the most highly prized and expensive.
However, they still don’t match the jaw dropping prices that many pre-release cards sold for, which we covered in our most expensive Disney Lorcana cards article.
