Welcome to 2025, dear reader. We’ve hit the ground running in the world of Flesh and Blood! The holiday season meant things were a bit more relaxed for December, but now it’s full steam ahead, and I’m here to help you stay in the know!

Play the Game, See the World

The official Flesh and Blood YouTube account released a heartwarming video showcasing some of the game’s best and brightest sharing their experiences with what captured them about the game, and what has them coming back for more every day. Fans of the feeling of camaraderie through the common language of playing great games won’t want to miss this.

Calling: Chicago

The inaugural Living Legend Calling concluded with a healthy serving of Bravo, Star of the Show and Chane, Bound by Shadow in the top eight. Michael Hamilton, the first World Champion himself, took the trophy home with a deck boasting new disruptive earth cards from Rosetta. Bravo, Star of the Show truly stole the show all weekend with a double feature win at Chicago’s Living Legend Battle Hardened, piloted by Jordan Jalbert-Ross

Legend Story Studios Year in Review

The Flesh and Blood mothership detailed a list of accomplishments within the game, showcasing how fast this game is growing! Over 150,000 Armories worldwide, global product expansions, and celebrating the game’s fifth anniversary are just a few things on this list. Go have a look and see what you helped make a reality in the best card game out there!

New Year, New Beginnings

Bringing us into the new year, The Hunted has already made a huge splash, even pre-empting a ban before the set’s release!

Gone…just in time, actually.

While Ira, Scarlet Revenger fans all over would have reveled in being the undisputed best deck in the room, this would have likely negatively impacted attendance for the release weekend Calling. The ceiling of her power was wisely nipped in the bud with the banning of Zephyr Needle, while still not fully nerfing the power boost she’s going to get from the new set, encouraging players to come out and try new things with the exciting new cards from The Hunted.

Stay tuned for updates on Calling: Memphis, you won’t want to miss this one. Will one of the new heroes have what it takes, or will older heroes gain the advantage by absorbing new cards into their own strategies?

Combat: Evolved

Don’t worry, Master Chief isn’t getting a hero card. Legend Story Studios has taken it upon themselves to clean up some of the finer details of the combat step. While this may be an adjustment for some heroes that like to do things at instant speed, the overall execution of each turn will align with how they’re played intuitively by most players. You can read an in-depth detailing here, it’s a great thing to familiarize yourself with.

Retirement doesn’t suit you.

The rule surrounding naming cards is changing. Before, you could not name a card with an effect that wasn’t legal in the format you were playing. This had some unpleasant interactions with Katsu, the Wanderer‘s cards needing to name Bonds of Ancestry, a card not currently legal in Classic Constructed. The rule has been updated to allow naming cards not currently legal in order to increase the functionality of Ninja’s card pool.

And finally, rules have been refined for resolving ties in untimed rounds, as well as creating a space for players to intentionally draw a game under certain conditions.

By the time you read this, The Hunted prerelease events will be underway. Nonetheless, may all of your games be a blast, and all of your packs have hot fire in them.
