An unlikely video game phenomenon, the Goat Simulator series has been providing console and PC players with untold hours of unbelievably chaotic and hilarious open world fun for more than a decade. With Goat Simulator 3 (in typically silly fashion, it’s actually only the second Goat Simulator game) having launched in 2022 and Goat Simulator Remastered arriving in 2024 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original game, there’s now numerous ways to cause chaos and terrorize the inhabitants of Goatville (and way, way beyond).
Soon, there’ll be another way to get your fix of caprine carnage, as the developers of the video game series, Coffee Stain North, have announced Goat Simulator: The Card Game! Though details are wispier than a goat’s beard at this stage, we do know that MOOD Publishing, the creators of Deep Rock Galactic: The Board Game and Valheim: The Board Game, are on hand to develop the tabletop game, so it’s definitely going to be in good hooves hands.
Goat Simulator: The Card Game will be launching on Kickstarter in 2025, and though we’re promised that MOOD Publishing will “put all the joy and nonsense from the Goat Simulator franchise into a lovely card-filled box,” we have no further details right now. However, if you head to the game’s Kickstarter pre-launch page, you can sign up to be notified of further announcements, including the launch date for the crowdfunding campaign itself. Head to moodpub.co/goat right now and hit the Notify Me button to be the first to hear about the fresh farmyard chaos that’s being cooked up.
Goat Simulator: The Card Game follows MOOD’s hugely successful Kickstarter campaign for Deep Rock Galactic: The Board Game, which exceeded its initial funding goal by 1000% from nearly 20,000 backers, and their latest project, Valheim: The Board Game currently in production.
Of course, if you can’t wait for the physical game, you can always check out Goat Simulator 3 in the meantime; it’s available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS and Android (the aforementioned Goat Simulator Remastered is also available now, albeit on fewer platforms). You can check out the digital game’s official website here. Finally, if you want to learn more about MOOD Publishing‘s other titles, you can take a look at their website here.
As fans of Goat Simulator from the days when it was little more than an April Fool’s Joke, we here at Card Gamer are very excited to see Pilgor and friends making their way to our tabletops, and can’t wait to see what Coffee Stain North and MOOD Publishing have in store for us!
