The second set for the League of Legends trading card game, Riftbound, is here. Spiritforged brings new mechanics and keywords to Riftbound, along with some very highly sought after cards. Which ones are fans most keen to get their hands on? Let’s find out, as we check out the most valuable cards in Riftbound: Spiritforged!
Table of Contents
Toggle10. Ahri, Inquisitive (Overnumber) – Showcase, 227/221

Kicking off our list of the most valuable cards in Riftbound: Spiritforged is this overnumbered Ahri, Inquisitive card. Overnumbered cards are usually known as Secret Rare cards in other card games, but they’re the same thing in Riftbound. What it means is that the number on the card is above the number of cards in the set; in this instance, it’s card number 227 of 221. Overnumber cards, just like Secret Rares in other games, are alternate art variants of other cards in the set.
9. Bard, Mercurial (Signature) – Showcase, 228*/221

It turns out that Ahri, Inquisitive is the only non-Signature card on this list. So here’s the first: Bard, Mercurial. A Signature card in Riftbound features the same artwork as the standard Overnumber variant of a card, but has the added bonus of a printed signature from the card’s artist too.
8. Karma, Channeler (Signature) – Showcase, 237*/221

It’s also worth noting that, as gorgeous as all of these cards look, they look even better in person, with textured, foil treatments that give each one a truly premium feel. You’ll note that each of the cards on this list features a Champion, though some are Units and some are Legends. This Karma, Channeler card is an example of a Champion Unit card.
7. Yasuo, Windrider (Signature) – Showcase, 235*/221

PC game, League of Legends, offers numerous alternate skins for the Legend characters who players can choose to play as. With Riftbound being an adaptation of League of Legends, bringing a similar area control feel to the tabletop, it also cleverly uses its alternate art variants as a way to feature different “skins” for its characters. This Yasuo, Windrider card is a good example of that. When we spoke to Dave Guskin, Riftbound’s Game Director, he confirmed this was a deliberate design choice. He also confirmed that Yasuo was his favorite Legend in Riftbound: Origins, so it feels even more relevant to mention our interview here!
6. Aphelios, Exalted (Signature) – Showcase, 224*/221

There’s a real beauty to many of the Spiritforged Overnumber cards, which feature an ethereal, very Japanese style of illustration (and a specific type of skin, which we’ll discuss shortly!). This Aphelios, Exalted card is no exception! It’s also worth noting that these Signature cards are especially rare; it’s estimated that you’ll find just 1 in every 700 packs. Which explains why they’re so highly sought after!
5. Soraka, Wanderer (Signature) – Showcase, 239*/221

Heading into the top half of the list of the most valuable Spritiforged cards, we have another beautiful card featuring a Spirit Blossom skin from League of Legends. Spiritforged is, as its name suggests, themed around the Ionian Spirit Blossom lifting the veil between the mortal and spirit realms. This explains why the alternate art illustrations featured on this list are all Spirit Blossom skins from League of Legends!
4. Sett, Brawler (Signature) – Showcase, 232*/221

3. Vayne, Hunter (Signature) – Showcase, 223*/221

So of course, at number three there’s another Spirit Blossom themed card. Though Vayne does sometimes wear a mask as part of her Spirit Blossom look, here she’s featured without it. It’s worth noting that all of these Overnumber and Signature cards retain full card text, so they are playable in decks. However, given their scarcity and value, it’s very unlikely that anyone would use them to actually play Riftbound with, as cheaper variants exist of every card on this list!
2. Irelia, Fervent (Signature) – Showcase, 225*/221

Probably the darkest card on this list in terms of its overall aesthetic, this Irelia, Fervent card still features a glowing, bright light behind the character. So it’s hardly a gloomy card in general; it’s just a notable, noticeable contrast with the rest of the cards on this list. Each of which is bold, vibrantly colorful and uses a very light palette!
1. Ahri, Inquisitive (Signature) – Showcase, 227*/221

There’s a really neat symmetry to the list of the most valuable cards in Riftbound: Spiritforged. That’s because it opens with Ahri, the only non-signature card on this list, and ends with a card featuring the same art, only with the artist’s signature added. You’ll note that all Signature cards have an asterisk in the card number; this is to denote that they feature the same artwork, but feature the artist’s signature as a bonus.
