There are 84 cards in Pitch Black’s main set. There will be cards numbered above 84 (known as Secret Rares), but none of these have been revealed yet. The set code for Pitch Black is PBL, and this can be seen in the bottom left of each card. Pokémon Pitch Black Secret Rare Card Gallery
Any cards you find which are numbered above the designated number of cards in a set are known as “Secret Rare” cards. For example, because the number of cards in Pitch Black is shown as 84, Secret Rare cards are those numbered from 85 onwards. Secret Rare cards are alternate art and foil treated variants of other cards in the set. The Secret Rare cards for Pitch Black are numbered from 85 to 120:






























Are Other Cards Available Alongside the Pitch Black Set?

Though it’s not officially part of the Pitch Black set (bearing the MEP set code, rather than PBL), the Zarude promo card shown above is included in Pokémon Pitch Black Elite Trainer Boxes.
When Was Pokémon Pitch Black Released?

The Pitch Black set was released on July 17th, 2026. Pre-release events took place in the week before that date. If you missed those, you can find your local pre-release for future sets using the official Pokémon event locator.
