Having launched back in 2024, Star Wars Unlimited is now on its eighth set, Ashes of the Empire. Set during ,and in the aftermath of, the original trilogy’s closing chapter, Ashes of the Empire features a wealth of excellent characters and settings amongst its selection of cards. Which cards are proving to be the ones that fans are most excited to get their hands on? Let’s find out, as we check out the most valuable cards in Star Wars Unlimited: Ashes of the Empire!
10. Emperor Palpatine, According to my Design (Showcase) – Special, 781
Shown here in his throne room on the second Death Star is Emperor Palpatine. The Showcase variant of this card is the one which fans want to get their hands on; amusingly, if you want the same card’s standard variant, it won’t even cost you a dollar! However, given the alternate art and general scarcity of Showcase cards, this variant’s value puts it squarely into the list of the most valuable Ashes of the Empire cards!
9. Greef Karga, Gracious Magistrate (Showcase) – Common, 783
Featuring the late, great Carl Weathers as the Magistrate Greef Karga, this is another double-sided Leader card in its Showcase form. These cards are slightly easier to find than they used to be, thanks to Carbonite Boosters, but they’re still scarce and fans are still paying a premium to own certain cards.
8. Moff Gideon, Indomitable Warlord (Showcase) – Common, 774
Moff Gideon provided a brilliantly threatening nemesis for The Mandalorian and his little sidekick, Grogu. Depicted here in his pseudo-Mandalorian armor, Gideon cuts an impressively imposing figure, and it’s easy to see why fans would want to get their hands on this variant of his double sided Leader card.
7. Sabine Wren, Bargaining on Belief (Showcase) – Common, 772
Introduced in Star Wars: Rebels, Sabine Wren became a standout, beloved character. She’s seen here in her live action variant, from the Ahsoka show, on another Showcase variant. Being a Leader card, it is of course double sided too, allowing the art to shine in two different aspect ratios!
6. Bo-Katan Kryze, Reclaiming Mandalore (Showcase) – Rare, 776
Making use of the new ability to create Mandalorian tokens, Bo-Katan Kryze flies into the sixth spot on our list of the most valuable cards in Ashes of the Empire. The eagle eyed among you will spot The Armorer, along with several other Mandalorian characters, on her card too!
5. Grogu, Charming Companion (Showcase) – Rare, 784
Since his introduction in second set, Shadows of the Galaxy, Grogu has repeatedly proven to be one of the most popular, fan favorite Star Wars Unlimited cards. This double sided card is the first time Grogu has been a Leader, however. Of course, it’s the Showcase variant which fans are clamoring for, as the standard Rare can be found for pennies as a single card!
4. Cad Bane, Still Faster Than You (Showcase) – Common, 777
Unfairly and unceremoniously dispatched in the divisive Disney Plus show, The Book of Boba Fett, Cad Bane was a real badass character until that point. Despite his ignominious end, he remains a fan favorite, so we aren’t surprised to see his second ever Leader card here, in Showcase form.
3. Darth Vader, Meet Your Destiny (Serialized, Prestige) – Special, 924
This Darth Vader card is in the Prestige rarity, which means it has a gorgeous, textured foil finish and exclusive, alternate art. It’s also serialized, which means that every copy of this card has its own number between 001-250 stamped on the card, so each one is entirely unique. It also means that there are only 250 copies of this card in the entire world, yet right now, that still isn’t enough to make it the most valuable card on the list!
2. Ahsoka Tano, Trust in the Force (Showcase) – Common, 775
Anakin Skywalker’s former apprentice, Ahsoka Tano grew to be a formidable Rebel agent after leaving the Jedi Order. This card features Ahsoka as an adult, as she appears in The Mandalorian and her own, self-titled show, Ahsoka.
1. Luke Skywalker, I Can Save Him (Showcase) – Special, 771
Finally, we have one of the most perennially popular characters in Star Wars: Luke Skywalker. This card, another double sided Leader card in its Showcase variant, features the character in his black attire, with his own self-constructed, green lightsaber, on the second Death Star at the climax of Return of the Jedi.
