To say that the Cyberpunk TCG had a successful crowdfunding campaign is somewhat of an understatement. The official trading card game, adapting the iconic TTRPG universe, had a relatively modest $100,000 pledge target upon its launch via Kickstarter. Yet it went on to raise just shy of $30,000,000 over the course of its campaign, which looks set to secure its place in the TCG market for a long time to come. With the first set, Welcome to Night City, having reached the tabletops of eager fans worldwide, WeirdCo has unveiled the game’s first expansion set: Edgerunners: Burn Bright.
Due to launch in Spring 2027, Edgerunners: Burn Bright expands on the foundation of Welcome to Night City. It introduces players to iconic and beloved characters, weapons, cyberware, and scenes from the critically acclaimed Netflix anime series, Edgerunners, created by CD PROJEKT RED and legendary animation studio TRIGGER.
Players can expand their crews or build entirely new ones composed of their favorite characters from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and unlock powerful new competitive strategies to take down Rivals. Collectors will enjoy vivid, vibrant artwork that captures the iconic style of the anime series across incredible foil and textured treatments, including an all-new chase rarity that will be fully revealed at a later date.
“The community reception to Cyberpunk TCG has been nothing short of incredible so far, so we want to deliver something even more exciting with Set 2,” said WeirdCo Co-Founder Elliot Cook. “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners provides us so many opportunities to evolve this game in meaningful ways, both mechanically and artistically, and we can’t wait to share that with players.”
Pre-release events will take place in the week before Edgerunners: Burn Bright officially hits retail in Spring 2027. At these events, players can play in Pre-release tournaments and open packs, get their hands on these new cards, and play games against other competitors. Art and card reveals are planned for the months leading up to launch, and fans can look forward to the unveiling of new card mechanics that will prominently feature in Edgerunners: Burn Bright. Cyberpunk TCG’s social channels, as well as upcoming Edgerunner Open Regional tournament broadcasts on Twitch and YouTube, will be the places to check out for the latest previews and spoilers.
Edgerunners: Burn Bright will launch in English and French, with Chinese language support coming at a later date.
