Having taken the card game world by storm in 2023, Disney’s first ever trading card game, Lorcana, is on track for another huge year.
Kicking off new releases for the game in 2024 is the third Lorcana set, Into the Inklands, which is introducing a wealth of fascinating new cards and even an entirely new card type!
There are 204 cards, not counting Secret Rares, on the way in the Into the Inklands set.
Given that the previous two sets, The First Chapter and Rise of the Floodborn, each featured 12 Secret Rare cards, we can make an educated guess that Into the Inklands is going to be no different.
So what cards have been revealed so far?

What Is The New Card Type In Into The Inklands?
You’ll notice from the card gallery that there are two landscape oriented cards.
These are Locations – and they’re played just like any other card, using an Ink cost, but characters can be moved to them for specific bonuses.
In the example above, Maui’s Place of Exile, Hidden Island gives each Character moved to the Location the keyword Resist +1, which reduces any damage dealt to them by 1 point!
Some characters even get bonuses at Locations from their own cards, as well as the Location’s own bonus.
In the example above, you can see that the amusingly named Minnie Mouse, Funky Spelunker gets a Strength bonus of +2 when she’s at a Location.
Given that she has a printed Strength of 0, it’s very likely that you’ll need to ensure she’s at a Location to get the most benefit from having Minnie Mouse, Funky Spelunker in your deck.
What Else Is New In Into The Inklands?
Look closely at the above abundance of Dalmatian Puppy, Tail Wagger cards.
See that card text? That’s right, with Dalmatian Puppy, Tail Wagger’s card text, you’re allowed to add up to 99 copies of it in your deck; this means that, with Pongo, Determined Father and the as yet unrevealed Perdita card, you’ll actually be able to build a deck containing all 101 Dalmatians!
Though we’re unlikely to see many of these in the wild, as there may well be plenty of ways for it to be countered within the Into the Inklands set, it’s pretty cool that Ravensburger have found a way to make a legal, thematic 101 Dalmatians deck in Disney Lorcana!
Though Locations are the only new card type, it’s clear that with elements such as the 101 Dalmatians cards, Into the Inklands is shaping up to be the most exciting Disney Lorcana set so far!
What Are Enchanted Cards?
Enchanted cards are special, full art cards that are very rare; it’s estimated that these appear in just 1 in every 72 booster packs!
Due to their rarity and special art, as well as their spectacular foil treatment, these tend to be the most highly sought after cards in any Lorcana set.
Note that they’re classified as ‘Secret Rare’ cards, as their card number goes beyond the ‘official’ number of cards in a set.
In the example above, Morph, Space Goo is card number 211 of 204.
Note that Enchanted cards are versions of easier to find cards that appear elsewhere in the set, so you won’t be missing out if you want to play these cards and you only have the standard art variant.
When Will Into the Inklands Be Released?
As with previous Disney Lorcana sets, Into the Inklands will first launch in specialist game stores, with bigger, non-specialist stores receiving their stock for sale two weeks later.
So you can expect to find Into the Inklands on sale on February 23rd, 2024 at local and online game stores, followed by general release at mass market retailers and online from March 8th, 2024.
