Most Valuable One Piece OP17 cards

The One Piece Card Game celebrates its fourth anniversary with The World’s Strongest Warriors, the 17th mainline set. Just ahead of the set’s official launch, we wondered which cards fans are currently seeking out. Though there’s likely to be rarer and more expensive cards in the set when they’re found and sold, these are the cards commanding the highest prices on TCGplayer at the time of writing. Without further ado, let’s check out the most valuable cards in the One Piece OP17 set!

10. Are You That Afraid of the New Era?!! (Alternate Art) – Rare, OP17-37

A Green Event card, Are You That Afraid of the New Era?!! features Shanks, with a famous piece of dialogue that has been translated differently from Japanese on a few occasions. However, this seems to be the official translation of the text, and here you can see it as part of a Manga-style variant which looks fantastic. We aren’t surprised to see this card make it to the list of the most valuable OP17 cards!

9. Loki (Alternate Art) – Secret Rare, OP17-119

Prince of Elbaph, Loki is part of the nation’s Royal Family, and is a significant ally to the Straw Hat Pirates. Loki is a giant, and his Devil Fruit allows him to transform into an enormous, black dragon! This alternate art variant of his card is beautifully illustrated with a great depiction of Loki, and it’s another card we’re not surprised to see on this list.

8. Shanks (Alternate Art) – Leader, OP17-020

Just a few cards in and we have Shanks again, though this time in Leader form. This alternate art card may not be the most aesthetically elaborate One Piece card, but Shanks is clearly popular, and it’s great to see him making yet another appearance.

7. Kaido (Alternate Art) – Leader, OP17-058

Kaido, sometimes known as Kaidou of the Beasts, is regarded as the One Piece world’s Strongest Creature. He’s also a highly ranked member of the Beast Pirates. This card shows him in his formidable, and very colorful, dragon form!

6. Rocks D. Xebec (Alternate Art) – Leader, OP17-039

Here we have the alternate art Leader card featuring the Captain of the Rocks Pirates, Rocks D. Xebec. He has a connection with Loki, in that the giant Prince idolized him! Another character from the Elbaph Arc, he appears on several cards in OP17, with this one currently being the most valuable. However, once more cards make their way into the hands of fans, we suspect his Super Alternate Art card will overtake it!

5. Monkey D. Luffy (Alternate Art) – Leader, OP17-079

Another Luffy card, this time it’s the alternate art variant of his black Leader card. It’s another solid, if unspectacular looking card. However, we often see Luffy in multiple spots on lists of One Piece cards. He is the saga’s protagonist, after all!

4. Edward Newgate – Treasure Rare, OP17-040

Despite only having a mustache, Edward Newgate is known as Whitebeard. In fairness, it is a pretty amazing, flawless mustache! Apparently, in Japan his nickname translates literally as white facial hair, so it fits him a lot better in One Piece’s country of origin!

3. Yamato (SP) – Super Rare, OP16-098

Yamato is the son of Kaido, who we have of course already seen on this list. Though assigned female at birth, Yamato identifies as male due to his obsession with the samurai Kozuki Oden. Notably, Yamato is an ally of Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates. This variant of Yamato’s card makes great use of black and white alongside sparing use of color for a very striking look. Though this card originated in OP16, this variant is found in OP17!

2. Buggy (SP) – Promo, P-084

The main villain of the Orange Town Arc, Buggy is one of the Emperors of the New World. Not bad for a clown! This Promo card looks amazing, and we can’t say we’re shocked to see it so close to the top of the most valuable OP17 cards.

1. Monkey D. Luffy (Super Leader Alternate Art) – Leader, OP17-079

Luffy’s Super Leader alternate art card is by far the most valuable card in OP17 right now. Here, Luffy is depicted wearing a horned helmet. This is something he wore during the Dressrosa Arc of the One Piece saga. If you find this variant in your OP17 booster pack, you’ll have found a treasure almost as valuable as the One Piece itself!
