The Jim Henson Company Bring Lorwyn to Life in A Boggart Ballad

An utterly charming Lorwyn Eclipsed trailer has surfaced, by none other than the puppet masters at The Jim Henson Company. Let's check it out!

Despite all of the Universes Beyond sets for Magic: The Gathering taking the game into territory you would never have predicted in a million years, a new collaboration has taken the game into even more unique territory.

Created as a trailer for the Lorwyn Eclipsed set, A Boggart Ballad is a charming showcase for the plane’s unique setting. The serene, rural and whimsical Lorwyn is a place of perpetual sunlight and daytime, but every three hundred years it was transformed into the dark, sinister Shadowmoor when the Great Aurora planar event occurs. That changed, and now the two planes sit side by side, tainted by the other in places. The inhabitants on each side can see their polar opposite environment, and maybe even catch a glimpse of who they are on the other side.

Which leads us nicely into what The Jim Henson Company’s Lorwyn Eclipsed trailer, A Boggart Ballad, covers so beautifully. Two boggarts, one on each side of the divide, go about their days. In a very musical, utterly charming way. You can watch it below!

Great, right? A rock opera-style, Jim Henson Company-produced trailer for a Magic: The Gathering set was definitely not on our bingo card, but now we have a taste of what that looks like, suddenly we want to see so much more. Can we have a puppet-led Lorwyn Eclipsed TV show, please?

Lorwyn Eclipsed is released on the 23rd of January, 2026.
