Or rather, Cad Bane has been suspended. That’s no good for an attention seeking, alliteration-filled headline though, is it? In the latest blow to players who favor Bounty Hunters in Star Wars Unlimited, Cad Bane, Still Faster Than You has been suspended from competitive play.
Though there can be other reasons for a card’s suspension, this often happens when a card is seen to be too dominant in competitive play. That’s what has happened with Cad Bane, Still Faster Than You (card 011/264), which has rapidly become overly used and a victim of his own success. Having only been introduced in the Ashes of the Empire set, it has been very swiftly dealt with by Fantasy Flight Games.

There are three variants of Cad Bane, Still Faster Than You. Standard, Hyperspace and Showcase. No variant of the card with this title can be used in the Premier format for Star Wars Unlimited, at least until further notice. Premier is the standard format used to play Star Wars Unlimited, so if you do want to continue using Cad Bane in Twin Suns or Eternal, you’re absolutely free to do so.
Also, if you’re playing in non-organized play with friends, you can still use whatever cards you want. As long as your friends agree, of course. They might not want to be absolutely stomped by Cad Bane either!
Will Cad Bane, Still Faster Than You Remain Suspended?

Fantasy Flight have said before that the word suspended, rather than banned, is used as it’s always intended to be a temporary measure. Previous information has been given that a suspended card will be legal in Eternal again two main sets after its suspension is enforced. So we’d be looking beyond the release of Homeworlds in October 2026, and into 2027 before Cad Bane can return to organized play, at the earliest.
