The party’s over, as we head away from the celebrations of Shimmering Skies, and into the Azurite Sea, with the latest Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game (or TCG) set.
Since Disney Lorcana launched in 2023, it’s fair to say that it’s been a massive critical and commercial success. Disney fans have been lured to the game thanks to gorgeous artwork, and TCG players (new or experienced) have discovered that Lorcana has innovative, straightforward mechanics and is easy to learn and play.
Though the pace of releases for TCGs can be relentless, Lorcana publisher Ravensburger have done a good job of ensuring that new sets aren’t launched at an overwhelming rate, but still ensure that interest is maintained in the current metagame, while dangling new opportunities with new sets on the horizon.
Disney Lorcana’s fifth set, Shimmering Skies, had a celebratory tone and aesthetic, as the inhabitants of the game’s universe rejoiced in the defeat of Ursula (you can take part in the battle against Ursula yourself, either alone or with friends, in the Illumineer’s Quest: Deep Trouble set). Characters from series such as Wreck-It Ralph and Encanto made their presence felt with lots of cards from each, and everything felt much more colourful and joyous than the somewhat darker fourth set, Ursula’s Return.
In the sixth set for Disney Lorcana, we’re off on an exciting adventure again; this time, we’re heading out to the Azurite Sea. So let’s take a look at all of the cards from Disney Lorcana’s sixth set, including the special Enchanted cards that are sure to be highly sought after!

Azurite Sea Enchanted Card Gallery
Each Disney Lorcana set has its Base Set of cards; as you can see in the base set’s gallery, these are numbered between 1 and 204, which is the number of cards in the Azurite Sea set. Yet there’s also cards which go above the ‘official’ number of 204 cards in the set; in the majority of TCGs, these are known as Secret Rare cards, due to their numbering.
These are always, in Disney Lorcana at least, alternate art, super rare variants of cards that you’ll find in the base set. Along with the card number, these are very easy to spot, as the art covers the card (this is known as ‘full art’), with no black borders that you see on other cards. They also have an impressive, beautiful textured foil treatment across the surface of the card, which looks different and superior to the standard foil treatment on other cards in the set; these are known as Enchanted cards, and we have an example of one of these cards in the image above, which shows the Enchanted Stitch card, from Disney Lorcana’s The First Chapter set.
Enchanted cards are only found at the rate of 1 in every 72 booster packs, making them highly sought after as well as desirable. The Enchanted cards in Azurite Sea have a stylised, sepia toned look, with line drawings that ape the aesthetic of old maps, which is definitely in keeping with the nautical, piratical theme of the set, and there are 18 cards in all:
What Characters Are Making Their Debut In Azurite Sea?
All of the members of super hero team, Big Hero 6, are present and correct in Azurite Sea, making their appearance in Disney Lorcana for the first time. You can see each of them in the image above: Go Go Tomago, Honey Lemon, Fred, Wasabi, Hiro Hamada and Baymax (in armoured form) are all shown.
Interestingly, Baymax is available both as Personal Healthcare Companion and Armored Companion, as you can see above. Both have ways of removing damage from other characters, both can Quest for 2 points of Lore, but each has their own stats; Personal Healthcare Companion has zero Strength, for example, whereas Armored Companion has 2. He’s not the only Big Hero 6 character with two versions; Hiro Hamada appears as himself and in his superhero guise too!
Though I was certain that Chip and Dale had already appeared in a previous Lorcana set, that’s not the case; the adventurous chipmunks are making their debut in Azurite Sea, along with many other members of the Rescue Rangers cast. Both Chip and Dale are pictured above, and they partner well together (though Chip’s ability, despite its name, doesn’t have to apply specifically as a bonus for Dale!). They feature numerous times, and even on a single card together!
What New Starter Decks Will Be Released For Azurite Sea?
Disney Lorcana’s initial set, The First Chapter, was released with three Starter Decks, and gave players a taste of all six Ink types in the game. However, each subsequent set has featured two Starter Decks, with four Ink types represented overall, and Azurite Sea is no different in this regard.
Pictured above are the two Starter Decks; there’s an Amber and Ruby Ink deck, with Treasure Planet hero Jim Hawkins and Winnie the Pooh’s friend Tigger as its main character cards (or Glimmers, as they’re known in Lorcana’s terminology), then an Emerald and Sapphire Ink deck which features Big Hero 6’s Go Go Tomago and Gagdet Hackwrench from Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers.
As with previous sets, there are a mixture of old and new cards, with the decks themselves built so as to be welcoming to newcomers and competitive when played against each other. Of course, these are designed to introduce new players to Disney Lorcana; they’re easy to learn and play with, but are very unlikely to be competitive if played against decks which have been specifically built with powerful combos and strategies in mind. If you’re playing Lorcana competitively, you’ll need to build your own deck, and we have the basic details on how to do so in our how to play Disney Lorcana guide.
When Will Azurite Sea Be Released?
Following a similar release pattern to previous sets, Disney Lorcana’s sixth set, Azurite Sea, will first launch in dedicated game stores nearly two weeks before it hits mainstream and online retailers. The hobby store launch for Azurite Sea is the 15th of November, 2024, and mainstream release is 25th of November, 2024.
The usual product range has been revealed, so along with the Starter Decks that we’ve taken a brief look at, you’ll find booster packs, booster boxes (if you really want to delve deeply into the set’s cards!), then a Gift Set and Illumineer’s Trove, which each come with their own exclusive accessories, along with a selection of booster packs as well.
Are you excited to explore the Azurite Sea? We know we are, and we’d love to get our hands on those spectacular Enchanted cards too!
