One of the best aspects of collectable card game UniVersus is that, regardless of the set of genre your cards belong to, everything is cross compatible.
So if you want to pit a classic Street Fighter character against one from My Hero Academia, Cowboy Bebop or Yu Yu Hakusho, it’s perfectly possible to do so.
Even when the card back is different, as it’s seen some evolution over the years since the game began as UFS (Universal Fighting System) way back in 2005.

It also means that new characters, stories and universes can be added to the game for even more combo-heavy, action packed clashes; one of the most exciting sets to have emerged recently is the Godzilla: Challenger Series, which features two decks and plenty of kaiju characters to battle it out on the tabletop!
The two decks are as follows: Godzilla + Mothra and King Ghidorah + Rodan. Let’s take a look at the cards in each deck.
Godzilla Challenger Series: Godzilla + Mothra Deck Card Gallery
There are 22 unique cards in the Godzilla + Mothra deck; however, some cards have an alternate art variant which can only be found in a Collector’s Booster pack, one of which is included with each Challenger Series deck. Here are the cards with the GMM set code:
Godzilla Challenger Series: King Ghidorah + Rodan Deck Card Gallery
Just as with the Godzilla + Mothra deck, there are 22 unique cards in the King Ghidorah + Rodan set, which has the KRM set code. The number of cards, however, is more than 22 due to the alternate art variants that are available of certain cards, each of which are shown in the gallery below:
What Is Included In The Godzilla: Challenger Series Decks?
There are two Godzilla: Challenger Series decks, one featuring Godzilla and Mothra, the other featuring King Ghidorah and Rodan. Each one has version of Mechagodzilla that’s unique to the specific deck.
Along with the decks, you’ll find a Collector’s Booster Pack in each box, which contains six alternate art or foil treated cards that won’t be found as part of the deck itself. These are certain to become highly sought after, especially as Godzilla is currently undergoing quite the resurgence in popularity, thanks to Godzilla Minus One and, to a lesser extent, the latest Monsterverse crossover film Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire.
It’s worth noting, if you’re a new player, or a Godzilla fan looking to check out UniVersus for the first time, that Challenger Series decks (as we’ve already seen with the Cowboy Bebop, Trigun Stampede and Critical Role releases), tend to be more suited for experienced UniVersus players.
This is due to their reliance on slightly more complex mechanics to carry out combos and use numerous abilities; just looking at the Character cards which head up each of these Godzilla decks, it’s clear that this is the case with these cards too.
