Riftbound Deploy Rules: How Does Deploy Work in Riftbound?

How does the Deploy keyword work in new Riftbound set, Radiance? Let's take a look, with some cards examples included!
Riftbound Deploy Cards

There are three new keywords introduced to Riftbound in the Radiance set. We’ve covered Disarm in its own guide, but there’s also Show Off and Deploy. We’ll be covering Show Off in its own guide too, but for now, let’s take a look at how Deploy works.

Deploy is a keyword which applies to certain Gear cards. Gear cards which have Deploy are played directly to battlefields, and remain there until the opponent holds the battlefield the Deploy card is present at. They’ll bestow certain bonuses to units at that battlefield, and sometimes can even do so for your opponent’s units too.

Some cards, such as the Jarvan IV Legend shown above, take advantage of cards which have Deploy. Jarvan IV can Deploy a card to a battlefield as normal, and then move a friendly unit to the same location. That costs a recycled Rune and he’s also exhausted, but that’s a pretty cool ability to have!

Ziggs is another Legend who makes good use of Deploy, although not directly as Jarvan IV does. Ziggs can play Bomb Gear tokens to battlefields which have Deploy.
