The third set for Riftbound is Unleashed, and it features several new mechanics and keywords. We’ve already covered Ambush and XP, but another is the Hunt keyword. How does it work? Let’s find out!
What Does Hunt Do in Riftbound?

A card with the Hunt keyword will gain XP when conquering or holding a battlefield. When earning XP, each point levels a player up; 3 points of XP means the player is at level 3, for example. As several cards gain new abilities when reaching certain levels, it’s very beneficial to earn XP!
Hunt can be paired with a number too. So while Hunt as a keyword without a number earns 1 XP when conquering or holding a battlefield, Hunt 2 earns 2 points of XP each time. You can see Hunt 2 on the above Master Yi card.
The Master Yi card also has the Deflect and Ganking keywords when reaching level 6. If you’re able to quickly gather the 6 XP needed to grant him those extra abilities, Master Yi becomes even more effective at gaining XP. Pretty impressive, right?

You can also spend XP for bonuses too; for example, the Kha’Zix shown above can gain XP using Hunt, and then spend it to deal damage!
So there you have it; the Hunt keyword is very straightforward and easy to understand. Despite seeming like an extra layer of complexity to the Riftbound rules, the XP you gain from using Hunt is also a simple concept in practice.
