The next English language Pokémon expansion has been revealed: Pitch Black. Alongside the name reveal, we have more details on the set that’ll be of interest to Pokémon fans. Let’s check out what we know!

Which Cards Feature in the Pokémon Pitch Black Set?

You’ll see the Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Excadrill ex cards at the top of this article, both of which feature in the Pitch Black set. You’ll also find the Zarude Promo card, shown above, in Pitch Black Elite Trainer Boxes. We know that there will be over 115 cards; as there are 84 standard cards in the set, that gives us a good idea as to how many Secret Rare cards will be in Pitch Black!

It’s been confirmed that there will be more than 35 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations. Eleven illustration rare Pokémon, along with 18 ultra rare Pokémon and Trainer cards have also been confirmed. We also know there will be six Mega Evolution Pokémon ex in the set.

When Will Pokémon Pitch Black Be Released?

The release date for Pokémon Pitch Black is July 17th. You’ll be able to get your hands on, and play with, cards from the set at Pokémon pre-release events from July 4th to July 12th. You can find your local event using the official Pokémon event locator.
