With Star Wars Unlimited, Fantasy Flight Games have created a Trading Card Game (or TCG) with an admirable restraint to its product range and card types. Though games such as Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh have a sometimes bewildering array of different card rarities, along with alternate art and various types of foil treatment on their cards, Star Wars Unlimited has kept things simple, with a straightforward approach to alternate art variants and foil treatments, as well as a rarity system that’s easy to decipher.
Even the lack of product types has been refreshingly minimal, making it easy to understand how to jump in and get started, not to mention easy on the wallet.
Star Wars Unlimited feels like a game that’s built for play, first and foremost, whereas other TCGs (or Collectible Card Games, also known as CCGs, as the terms are interchangeable) can sometimes feel like the play aspect takes second place behind collecting, with numerous booster pack types and boxes, and large numbers of variant cards within each set.
The Star Wars Unlimited sets so far have allowed for desirable cards to be present (take a look at the most valuable cards in the first set, Spark of Rebellion, for example), but it hasn’t overwhelmed or unbalanced the desire to actually play the game, for most fans.
However, Fantasy Flight Games have now announced a small set that’s aimed directly at high end collectors, which will be released as an exclusive product for fans attending specific conventions in 2024. Let’s take a look at what’s on offer in the 2024 Convention Exclusive set!

Star Wars Unlimited 2024 Convention Exclusive Card List
The cards being released as part of the 2024 Convention Exclusive set can be identified not just from their unique artwork and foil treatment, but also with the C24 set code, shown at the bottom right of the card. Each of the cards are numbered, as follows:
- C24 001/006 Count Dooku, Darth Tyranus
- C24 002/006 Darth Vader, Commanding the First Legion
- C24 003/006 Emperor Palpatine, Master of the Dark Side
- C24 004/006 Kylo Ren, Killing the Past
- C24 005/006 Asajj Ventress, Count Dooku’s Assassin
- C24 006/006 Darth Maul, Revenge at Last
Are These Cards In Other Sets?
It’s important to note that each of the cards on offer are available in other sets, though of course the extended art, card layout and foil treatment are all unique with the 2024 Convention Exclusive cards. As an example, take a look at the Kylo Ren card above; the card on the left is part of the Shadows of the Galaxy set, and the card on the right is the Convention Exclusive variant.
They are mechanically identical; that is to say that, in-game, they have the same stats and abilities as each other, so you won’t be missing out if you’re unable to get your hands on the Convention Exclusive cards. It’s the same situation for other cards in the set: Count Dooku, Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine are all cards from the first Star Wars Unlimited set, Spark of Rebellion.
There’s something special about the Asajj Ventress and Darth Maul cards, however, which we’ll take a look at now!
What Set Are The Asajj Ventress and Darth Maul Cards From?
If you look at our lists of cards from the first two Star Wars Unlimited sets, Spark of Rebellion and Shadows of the Galaxy, you won’t find the Asajj Ventress or Darth Maul cards there. They are from another set, however; it’s just that it hasn’t been released yet!
The third Star Wars Unlimited set, Twilight of the Republic, is due to be released in late 2024, so being able to get a sneak peek at two cards from the set, when no other cards have yet been revealed, is incredibly exciting. It’s worth noting that Fantasy Flight have confirmed that these cards won’t be tournament or organised play legal until Twilight of the Republic is released, but having them in your collection a few months early will definitely be worth some serious bragging rights. So how do you get your hands on these cards? Let’s find out!
Where Can I Buy The Star Wars Unlimited 2024 Convention Exclusive Set?
As you may have guessed from the set’s name, the 2024 Convention Exclusive cards will be available at the following events:
- San Diego Comic Con – San Diego, USA, July 25th-28th, 2024
- Gen Con – Indianapolis, USA, August 1st-4th, 2024
- Spiel – Essen, Germany, October 3rd-6th, 2024
- PAX West – Seattle, USA, August 30th-September 2nd, 2024
- PAX Unplugged – Philadelphia, USA, December 6th-8th, 2024
How Much Will The Star Wars Unlimited 2024 Convention Exclusive Set Cost?
The set of 6 cards will have a price of $100; for this you get one of each card in a set that won’t be available anywhere else. Fantasy Flight have evolved their plans for how to most fairly get these sets into the hands of fans, and are currently operating a ticketing system, with times allocated to fans for specific dates and slots that they can drop by the stand at events to pick up their cards.
Though this price is likely to seem very expensive to more casual fans, not to mention somewhat prohibitive, it’s not too different from the cost of similarly limited run, exclusive cards from Magic: The Gathering’s Secret Lair drops. Given how prized these cards will likely become among collectors, we’re fairly certain that the value of each individual card, not to mention the set itself, will skyrocket fairly quickly. We’re also sure to see them appear on lists of the most valuable Star Wars Unlimited cards overall, and as the first true collector cards to emerge from Star Wars Unlimited, they’re likely to remain highly sought after and valuable for a long time to come.
