Pokémon TCG Pocket Announces “Celestial Guardians” Set

The Pokémon Company announced Celestial Guardians, the next expansion set for Pokémon TCG Pocket, featuring 7th Generation creatures.

On Thursday, April 24th, The Pokémon Company announced Celestial Guardians, the next expansion set for Pokémon TCG Pocket. Featuring many Pokémon from the 7th Generation games Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, this marks the third “large” set for the app.

According to The Pokémon Company’s press release, Celestial Guardians will release on Wednesday, April 30th. The booster packs feature art of Sun & Moon Legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala. The set also showcases Alolan starters Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio.

The press release goes on to say:

Players around the world can collect new cards from the Celestial Guardians expansion, including the Alola region’s first partner Pokémon: Rowlet, Litten and Popplio, by opening booster packs or by using the wonder pick feature.
 
Furthermore, beginning May 1 players can flaunt their favorite cards with new accessories including a binder cover and display board featuring Rowlet.

Beyond just a press release, TPC announced that players can get an introduction to the set through a trailer on YouTube:

Drop Event and Solo Missions

According to the press release, players will also be able to engage in Solo Battles to get hold of the Rayquaza ex promo card. While we don’t know what Rayquaza ex does, you can be sure that it will be a popular event. This event will run from April 30th through Wednesday, May 13th.

Furthermore, according to TPC, a different Rayquaza ex promo will be available in a Drop Event from April 30th through Friday, May 29th.

From Tuesday, April 30 at 06:00 a.m. UTC to Monday, May 13 at 05:59 a.m. UTC, players can take on special solo battles to obtain new promo cards, including one featuring Rayquaza ex. In addition, players will be able to participate in special missions for an opportunity to receive a different Rayquaza ex promo card as well as various new accessories and other rewards. These special missions will be playable from Tuesday, April 30 at 06:00 a.m. UTC to Wednesday, May 29 at 05:59 a.m. UTC.
