Despite only launching in late 2025, Riftbound has shaken up the trading card game (or TCG) formula numerous times since its explosive debut. Riding a wave of critical and commercial success, Riot Games have kept the TCG’s hype train moving at lightning speed.
With second set, Spiritforged, now in the hands of eager fans worldwide, attention is turning to what future sets have in store for fans of the TCG. As Riftbound is based on Riot’s enduringly popular online game, League of Legends, what more is in store for fans of Riot’s universe? Will we see more from animated show, Arcane? Let’s find out!

ToggleWhat Can We Expect From Riftbound Set 3, and When Is It Launching?

The third Riftbound set is Unleashed, and it arrives on the 8th of May. Expect another 220 cards, more than 30 alt art variants and 2 new Champion Decks, shown above, featuring Vi and Vex. There’s also an entirely new product arriving with the set: the Vault. This is intended to get new players up and running with deckbuilding as soon as possible, featuring 6 boosters, tokens and a collection of 36 basic Runes.
What Can We Expect From Riftbound Set 4, and When Is It Launching?

Set four is Vendetta, and it’s due to launch on the 31st of July, 2026. One of the big new features in Vendetta is the debut of new Rune color pairs on Champion cards; red and green, blue and orange, plus purple and yellow being paired for the first time. It will also feature 9 Champions instead of the usual 12; this will be the standard from Vendetta onwards. There will be more than 160 cards in the set, including 50+ Showcase cards. Among the Showcase cards are “paired” duos.
As you can see from the example of the Vi and Jinx cards above, these feature artwork which extends the illustration across both cards, showing the rivalry of two characters in action. The release of Vendetta will also see another new product hitting store shelves: the Showdown Decks. These are two-player, pre-constructed Champion Decks which allow you to play against an opponent with no further cards needed. Vendetta’s Showdown Deck is Zed vs Shen.
What Can We Expect From Riftbound Set 5, and When Is It Launching?

Though debuting in Vendetta, the Showdown Deck will return in set 5, which is launching on October 23rd, 2026. Radiance is the name of the set, and its Showdown Deck features Evelynn vs Seraphine; you can see this in the image above. 180 cards and more than 60 Showcase cards will comprise the Radiance set, with more details to follow as the launch date nears.
