Trainer Gallery cards were introduced in 2022, as part of the Pokémon Sword and Shield: Brilliant Stars set. These special, full art cards genereally showcased Trainers with their Pokémon, in candid, non-battle settings. Though some focused on Trainers only, or just Pokémon without their Trainer, for the most part they did a great job of showcasing the partnership and bonds between Trainers and their Pokémon. Galarian Gallery cards then followed in early 2023, as part of the special Crown Zenith set, serving as a special send off for the Sword and Shield era and before Scarlet and Violet began. Galarian Gallery cards were very popular, and seem to be getting more so as time goes on. Let’s check out all of the cards in the Galarian Gallery subset for Crown Zenith!
Crown Zenith: Galarian Gallery Cards
If you’re wondering how you can identify Galarian Gallery cards, it’s actually very simple. The card number at the bottom left of the card has a GG prefix, and is numbered between 01 and 70. All cards also have the Crown Zenith set symbol, to the left of the card’s number, which is also left of the set rotation letter (in this instance, the letter F). Are Galarian Gallery Cards Valuable?
The most valuable cards in the set are generally the VSTAR and VMAX cards, though the Ultra Rare Mew shown above has also risen in price recently! Overall, the Galarian Gallery subset is likely to be quite expensive to collect, but the full cost is going to come mostly from the top 25 cards or so in the 70 card collection!
Even on eBay, graded cards for the set generally sell for a reasonable price in comparison to the most desirable cards from more recent sets. It’s definitely a good time to get involved in collecting the Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery cards, as our suspicion is that they’re likely to continue rising in value. If you check out our guide to set rotation in Pokémon, you’ll see that these cards are no longer tournament legal, so they’ve definitely become sought after by collectors now, rather than players. Crown Zenith booster packs, where these cards were originally found, were never sold individually as the set was a special release and only featured multipacks or special boxed bundles. So that also makes these packs more difficult to find as time goes on, increasing both scarcity and desirability of all cards in Crown Zenith, Galarian Gallery cards included!
