Though Disney’s first trading card game ‘Lorcana’ has hogged all of the headlines and excitement even prior to its launch in 2023, it’s most certainly not the first time that Disney characters have appeared in card form.
There have been numerous Disney trading card series over the years, and many cards, from a variety of different sets and publishers, are limited and highly sought after by fans and collectors.
Having taken a look at the cards sold on eBay, there are several which have sold for hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars.
Naturally, cards have been listed for higher prices, but for the purposes of this list, we’ve only included sold cards. After all, anyone can list a card for any price, and that doesn’t mean that it’s actually worth that, or that a collector will pay that much!
So in terms of the (non-Lorcana) Disney Trading Cards that have actually sold for the highest prices, which ones are the most valuable?

1. Mickey Mouse – Topps Chrome, Disney 100, Orange ($3,275)
This card – one of just 25 in the world – is part of the Topps Chrome Disney 100 set, which you’ll see an awful lot of on this list.
Topps Chrome sets tend to feature incredibly valuable cards for collectors. Here at Card Gamer, it’s certainly been the case that we’ve seen Topps Chrome cards dominate most valuable lists in numerous cases (and this list is no different in that regard!).
This card was listed for a price of $3,275 – though the seller did accept a lower offer (which remains unknown, unfortunately), it’s almost certainly safe to say that it remains the highest valued Disney trading card for now!
Featuring a classic image of Disney’s iconic, flagship character (Disney aren’t nicknamed the ‘House of Mouse’ for nothing, you know!), this Mickey Mouse card features some interesting facts on the back.
The card reminds fans that Mickey’s first appearance was way back in 1928 – in the short cartoon titled ‘Steamboat Willie’ – and that he’s appeared in over 130 films since then.
So it’s not surprising to see Mickey Mouse, unquestionably a massive cultural icon, on the card occupying the top spot of this list!
2. Donald Duck and Daisy Duck Dual Autograph Card – Topps Chrome, Disney 100 ($2,185)
Understandably, the most valuable cards in any given trading card set tend to be those that feature real autographs from famous personalities.
Football players, F1 drivers and wrestlers, for example.
Though you don’t usually expect autographs from fictional characters to turn up and prove incredibly valuable, do you?
However, that’s exactly what’s on this card – which features the ‘autographs’ of both Donald and Daisy Duck!
Given that there are only 75 of these cards in the world, it’s not a shock to see that one sold on eBay for $2,185.
No wonder this card is so sought after – who knew that Donald and Daisy Duck had such amazing handwriting skills?
3. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Dual Autograph Card – Topps Chrome, Disney 100 ($1,980)
Another dual autograph card, this one features the signatures from Mickey and his female counterpart, Minnie Mouse.
The big surprise with this one is that it didn’t sell for quite as much as the Donald and Daisy Duck card, given that it features Mickey himself.
Not only that, but the specific card that sold for $1,980 was actually numbered 1 of 75 – which you’d think would have increased its value significantly!
Though that wasn’t the case, I think you’ll agree that a card selling for close to $2,000 still isn’t anything to be sniffed at.
4. Woody and Buzz Lightyear Dual Autograph Card – Topps Chrome, Disney 100 ($1,640)
Another dual autograph card, this one – unlike the others – is one of only 23 cards produced!
It features the autographs of Toy Story stars, cowboy Woody and spaceman Buzz Lightyear – though it sold for an undisclosed ‘best offer’ amount, the listed price of $1,640 is no doubt close to what its unknown final value was.
Though – even this far into the list and having showcased a few of these cards so far – the concept of fictional characters autographing a card still seems quite odd, there’s no denying that Topps and Disney have gone the extra mile with them, making each autograph distinct and even thematic to each character too!
For example – just check out Woody’s autograph here, which cleverly incorporates a lasso into its design.
Also, it’s definitely worth noting that, though these aren’t actually real autographs by real people, clearly it’s not affected their desirability for collectors!
5. Mickey Mouse – Topps Chrome, Disney 100, Black ($1,420)
This Mickey Mouse card features the exact same illustration – and even card back – that’s on the orange Mickey card in the number one spot.
The difference being, of course, that this one has a black background, which given Mickey’s colour, can seem a little odd.
It’s also one of just ten of these cards in the world; though that’s the case – making it even rarer than the card at the top of this list – it’s certainly clear why the orange variant would be more desirable.
Though of course it’s subjective, we think it’s obvious that the orange card looks much more aesthetically pleasing, offering a clearer image of Mickey on a brighter background!
6. Mike Wazowski and Sulley Dual Autograph Card – Topps Chrome, Disney 100, Green ($1,315)
Another of the dual autograph cards, this green variant of the Mike Wazowski & Sulley card features the two main protagonists of Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University.
There are numerous variants of this card; there are 99 of this particular Green variant in the wild.
Another card which sold for its best offer value, obscuring its true final sale price, it had a listed cost of $1,315 and, once more, we’re sure that it would have been purchased for not much less than that.
It’s also another card which does a great job of showcasing the personalities of the characters it features, with the styling of their autographs.
For example, check out Mike’s little cartoon self-portrait next to his autograph – adorable, isn’t it?
7. Marlin and Nemo Dual Autograph Card – Topps Chrome, Disney 100 ($1,100)
If you thought it was impressive that ducks, mice and toys all signed their own autographs beautifully – well, prepare yourself for a shock.
Here’s a father and son fish team, Marlin and Nemo from Finding Nemo and Finding Dory, who have managed to do a great job of signing their autographs without having hands!
One of the 75 that exist of these blue dual autograph cards recently sold on eBay for $1,100. That’s a pretty amazing price, though it does seem to be par for the course, for these types of autograph cards.
8. Pluto – Topps Chrome, Disney 100, Red ($1,100)
So here’s a (slightly related to this card) question: if Pluto, who astonishingly made his cartoon debut way back in 1930, is Mickey’s dog, what on earth is Goofy?
How does Pluto feel about Goofy being treated like another person and not a pet? How does Goofy feel about it, for that matter?
Anyway, now that I’ve introduced that particularly perplexing conundrum to you, let’s take a look at this Pluto card.
There’s only five of these in the world, so naturally any that are found and sold are likely to fetch a high price.
This one went for a best offer price after being listed for $1,100 – but, given its scarcity, we’d be very surprised if it sold for much less than the seller was originally seeking.
9. Dory – Topps Chrome, Disney 100, Red ($930)
We’ve already had Finding Nemo’s Marlin and Nemo on this list – so here comes the incredibly forgetful Dory, who made her debut alongside the two aforementioned clownfish before getting her very own film, with Finding Dory in 2016!
Just like the Pluto card, this red refractor variant of Dory is one of only five in the world – to say this is rare is understating the situation somewhat.
So this is another card which has a very understandable price tag – having been listed for $930, then sold for a best offer.
Of course, once more we don’t know the ‘true’ final value, but we can be sure that this is still one of the most valuable Disney trading cards!
10. Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck – Heinerle Trading Card ($718)
Despite the top ten being filled with spectacular, modern trading cards, all from Topps, there’s an unusual, old school card just making it to the final entry on this list!
One thing that’s surprised me about all of the entries on this list so far is that not one has been professionally slabbed and graded – though it’s a costly and, on occasion, time consuming process, having a valuable card graded will often add quite a bit of value to its asking price.
That’s certainly the case with this German card, which is over 60 years old!
It’s been graded as a 5 by the PSA, which, considering that they grade from 1 to 10, isn’t great, but when you consider the card’s age and how long it would likely have been stored in a non-secure way, is actually pretty impressive.
Somewhat oddly, this German card has an almost English spelling of Mickey Mouse on the front (‘Micky’ Mouse), but his German moniker – Micky Maus – on the back.
Another strange touch is that Mickey (or Micky) has a blue face!
This feels like a genuinely rare find, despite the fact that several other cards on this list are deliberately limited in number.
After all, there can’t be many Disney cards published in the 1950s in Germany that are still around, or in such relatively good condition.
So the price tag of $718, though a lower best offer was accepted by the seller, is no shock at all!
