10 Most Valuable Pokémon Trainer Gallery Cards

Trainer Gallery cards are highly sought after among Pokémon fans. Let's take a look at the most valuable Trainer Gallery cards of them all!
Pokémon Trainer Gallery Cards Featured

Appearing in four different Pokémon Sword & Shield sets, Trainer Gallery cards mainly focused on showcasing Pokémon in everyday situations with their Trainers. The full art, foil-treated Trainer Gallery cards were always a great find in booster packs, even when they weren’t actually worth a huge amount to collectors. That said, some Trainer Gallery cards have certainly risen in price in the years since 2022, when they were first introduced. Which leads us to the question: what are the most valuable Trainer Gallery cards? Let’s find out!

10. Mimikyu V – Brilliant Stars, TG16/TG30

Kicking off our list of the most valuable Trainer Gallery cards is this incredibly creepy Mimikyu V, caught in the glow from a TV and casting a sinister shadow. What is Mimikyu watching, and why is it freaking out this Pokémon’s Trainer so much? That is left up to your imagination, of course, but perhaps the sight of the Mimikyu itself, watching TV in the darkness, is enough to give anyone the creeps, even if they are its Trainer!

9. Sylveon V – Brilliant Stars, TG14/TG30

If you’ve been collecting or playing Pokémon for a while, you’ll notice that Trainer Gallery cards are unique not just in the focus of their artwork, but also their card numbering. Generally, full and alternate art cards are numbered above the number of cards in any given set; for example, if a set has 200 cards, the rarest, full art cards will start their numbering at 201. Trainer Gallery cards are different altogether, with their numbering separating them from the main set entirely, and into their own subset, identified by “TG”. You’ll find this on the bottom left of each Trainer Gallery card, which also tells you how many TG cards there are in the set; in the case of Brilliant Stars, the set this Sylveon V is from, there were 30 Trainer Gallery cards, and Sylveon V was card number 14 of 30. Which explains the TG14/TG30 card number!

8. Pikachu V – Lost Origin, TG16/TG30

The first two cards on this list were both from Brilliant Stars, but this Pikachu V card hails from the Lost Origin set. On our list of most valuable cards from any given set, it’s quite common to see Pikachu, who quickly became the de facto mascot of Pokémon, after being introduced as lead character Ash’s faithful companion in the classic animated series.

7. Sylveon VMAX – Brilliant Stars, TG15/TG30

In my opinion, this Sylveon VMAX card, another from the Brilliant Stars set, is one of the most beautiful cards I’ve ever seen in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. It’s absolutely stunning, and its status as an Ultra Rare (as all Trainer Gallery cards are) means that it also has a striking foil treatment too. So it’s no wonder this card makes it to the most valuable Trainer Gallery cards list!

6. Umbreon V – Brilliant Stars, TG22/TG30

The Eeveelutions have always been hugely popular, and that’s been proven by the absolute frenzy that greeted the release of 2025’s Prismatic Evolutions set. Prismatic Evolutions featured all of Eevee’s evolved forms (yes, that’s why they’re known as Eeveelutions!), which of course includes the Sylveon that we’ve already seen, as well as the Darkness type Umbreon. Though this Umbreon V card from Brilliant Stars is reasonably valuable in its own right, it has nothing on the ‘Moonbreon’ card from Evolving Skies, which is at the very top of our most valuable VMAX cards list!

5. Pikachu VMAX – Lost Origin, TG17/TG30

The Pokémon Trading Card Game has always done a great job of keeping pace with, and adapting, new mechanics from the Pokémon video games. “Dynamaxing” was introduced in the Pokémon Sword & Shield video games, allowing Trainers to massively increase the size and power of their Pokémon. This made its way into the Pokémon Trading Card Game with VMAX Pokémon, and this Pikachu VMAX, from the Lost Origin set, is a great example of one!

4. Umbreon VMAX – Brilliant Stars, TG23/TG30

Of course, it’s no surprise that we hadn’t seen the last of Umbreon on this list, and here’s the perennially popular Pokémon in VMAX form, from the Brilliant Stars set. Though of course VMAX Pokémon have some seriously strong stats, and are therefore very useful to build into your deck for a game of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, you’re very unlikely to come up against one of these Trainer Gallery cards in play, due to their value and scarcity.

3. Garchomp V – Astral Radiance, TG23/TG30

It seems odd, especially after a few spectacular VMAX cards, that this Garchomp V Trainer Gallery card would be so highly placed. However, never underestimate the power of Dragon type Pokémon, which always seem to prove hugely popular among Pokémon fans. Though it may not have the most immediately visually striking illustration, its anime style and the artwork which brilliantly showcases the bond between Trainer and Pokémon has obviously seen it become very attractive to collectors!

2. Rayquaza VMAX – Silver Tempest, TG20/TG30

Trainer Gallery cards only ever appeared in four different Sword & Shield sets: Brilliant Stars, Astral Radiance, Lost Origin and Silver Tempest. Despite there being 30 cards in each set’s Trainer Gallery, this Rayquaza VMAX is the first and only card from Silver Tempest to make it to the list of the most valuable Trainer Gallery cards! That said, it’s absolutely not a surprise to see this card here, given its incredible artwork and vivid color scheme!

1. Starmie V – Astral Radiance, TG13/TG30

If you, like me, thought that the Garchomp V was a bit of a leftfield entry in its place on the list of the most valuable Trainer Gallery cards, this Starmie V is likely to come as even more of a shock. It’s not that it’s a bad card, or that its artwork is weak in any way; it’s just not the typically attention-grabbing, super-powerful card that you’d expect to occupy a number one spot. In its own way, its quite fitting that the most valuable Trainer Gallery card of them all, at least at the time of writing, features a Pokémon simply relaxing alongside their Trainer.

So there you have it; that concludes our list of the most valuable Trainer Gallery cards in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Why not check out our list of the most valuable cards in Pokémon Journey Together and Battle Partners?
