The final release for the Scarlet and Violet era of the Pokémon Trading Card Game is actually two sets, and marks the first time that a dual set has been released outside of Japan. Black Bolt and White Flare are the two sets in question; each has their own set of cards, and both sets have unique cards that collectors are very keen to get their hands on. Which cards are the most valuable in the White Flare set? Let’s find out!

Toggle10. Whimsicott ex – Special Illustration Rare, 165/086

It’s often the case with the most valuable cards in any Pokémon set that they’re wanted not for their usefulness in-game, but for their artwork. Though of course the cozy art on this Whimsicott ex card (a Special Illustration Rare variant) is wonderful, it’s definitely not a slouch in terms of its stats and abilities either. For the cost of one Grass Energy, you can search your deck for up to 3 Basic Energy cards (of any type), and attach them to your Pokémon in any way you want. Its attack, Wondrous Cotton, can deal 50 damage per Trainer card in your opponent’s hand, again for the low cost of just 1 Grass Energy!
9. Oshawott – Illustration Rare, 105/086

Of course, here’s one of those cards that’s valuable simply because it’s aesthetically stunning. Oshawott won’t be found in many decks, particularly as this Illustration Rare variant, but the sleeping Pokémon, shown here resting on a hammock above the beach, makes for a stunning card. It’s no wonder fans are so keen to get this card into their collection!
8. Chandelure – Illustration Rare, 103/086

From the unbelievably adorable Oshawott, to the slightly spooky Chandelure’s Illustration Rare card, the White Flare set has it all! This Chandelure Illustration Rare card is another example of a card that looks great and has some cool abilities too. With Burn It All Up, you can load your discard pile with cards that you can then use with Incendiary Pillar, as you’ll need at least 10 Fire Energy cards in your discard pile to deal 150 damage!
7. Keldeo – Special Illustration Rare, 167/086

Equine Pokémon like Ponyta and Rapidash have always been popular, and the same can be said of Keldeo, which features on this amazing Keldeo ex card. It’s clear to see why this Special Illustration Rare variant of Keldeo ex has made it to the list of the most valuable White Flare cards, with its spectacular artwork. That said, it’s no slouch in the stats and abilities areas either!
6. Jellicent ex – Special Illustration Rare, 168/086

The list of any most valuable Pokémon cards list is always full of cards showing Pokémon just being themselves, out in the wild, away from being stored in Pokéballs and engaging in battles. This Jellicent ex card definitely fits that category, with the adorable creatures charmingly bobbing away underwater.
5. Hilda – Special Illustration Rare, 171/086

There’s almost always at least one Supporter card in a most valuable Pokémon cards list; for White Flare, that honor goes to Hilda and her party of Pokémon, ready for battle. Another Special Illustration Rare variant, Hilda’s card allows players to search their deck for a specific Evolution Pokémon (that is, a non-Basic Pokémon) and any Energy card, and immediately put them in their hand.
4. Hydreigon ex – Special Illustration Rare, 169/086

The atmospheric artwork on this Hydreigon ex card’s Special Illustration Rare variant is pretty cool, showcasing the three-headed, dragon-style Pokémon flying through a lightning storm. The card itself has a great ability, allowing its player to take an extra Prize card if Hydreigon ex’s attack knocks out their Basic Pokémon. Which shouldn’t be difficult, given that its single attack, Dark Bite, deals 200 damage and stops the Defending Pokémon from retreating on their next turn!
3. Reshiram ex – Special Illustration Rare, 166/086

As the “mascot” for the White Flare set, it’s no surprise to see Reshiram ex on this list. This Special Illustration Rare variant of the card is one that an awful lot of players would be happy to pull from their White Flare boosters, but it’s not the most valuable Reshiram ex in the set. Let’s find out which one is, in our next entry on this list!
2. Reshiram ex – Black White Rare, 173/086

An entirely new rarity that’ll likely only appear in Black Bolt and White Flare, “BWR” (or Black White Rare) is used on just three cards: Zekrom ex (seen on our list of the most valuable Black Bolt cards), Victini and this Reshiram ex card. It’s a rarity which refers to a textured, foil treated card with one predominant color; in this instance, Reshiram ex is primarily white.
1. Victini – Black White Rare, 172/086

At the very top of this list, we have the aforementioned Victini BWR card. This card is a bit of an odd inclusion in the set, given that it’s also found in Black Bolt booster packs (albeit with the BLK set code, rather than WHT). However, that hasn’t stoppped collectors from making this the most valuable card in White Flare, surprisingly ranking higher than the BWR variant of Reshiram ex!
