After being very impressed with Kayou’s My Little Pony Card Game, we were very excited to have the opportunity to check out another of the company’s licensed trading card series. Though there isn’t a game element to the K-Pop Demon Hunters trading cards, they’re of the incredibly high quality you’d expect from Kayou, and with a variety of different styles and treatments too. Let’s check them out!

ToggleWhat’s Inside the K-Pop Demon Hunters: Energy Edition Box?

We got our hands on the Energy Edition box, which contains 12 K-Pop Demon Hunters trading card packs. Each one contains 8 cards, with a variety of subsets and rarity levels to be found. There’s some real surprises in these packs, with 130 cards to be found, comprised of 11 different rarity types overall. That includes serialized, limited number cards in the Energy Edition packs; it’s worth noting that Classic Edition pack are also available, featuring less rarities and special cards, but a more affordable and accessible experience for fans.
What Special Card Types Can Be Found in K-Pop Demon Hunters: Energy Edition Packs?

The variety of cards at different types and rarities is incredibly impressive. Kayou have done an absolutely amazing job with the Energy Edition cards. You can see an example of one of the lenticular, Holo Rare cards which showcase iconic moments from the K-Pop Demon Hunters movie above.

In the image above, you can see an example of a Titan Rare and a Quaint Rare. The Titan Rare cards are transparent, and intended to be paired with another card, to form an onstage “duet”. The Quaint Rare is in the form of a cardboard charm, which you’ll find sleeved in a pack if you’re lucky enough to pull one.

Above we can see even more card types. Right at the front, we have the Saja Boys Legacy Rare. At the top left is the Super Spark Rare, which is styled to look like a concert ticket. To the right of that is an Ultra Rare signature card, which looks like a magazine cover and features the character’s printed signature. Under the Holo Rare card to the right of the Ultra Rare card is a Super Rare, which looks like an incoming phone call from a character. It even has a mirrored element so you can technically be on the card when they call too!
The majority of the cards feature some sort of texture and foil detailing, with the rarest card types even having textured card backs, as you can see below.

There are many more card types to find, with 130 cards in the overall set, with some cards that are exclusive the Energy Edition altogether. Though some cards appear in both editions, the Classic Edition also has cards that can’t be found in the Energy Edition, making both types desirable for fans of K-Pop Demon Hunters!
According to Kayou, the trading card collections are available through TikTok Shop in the US, as well as major global retailers including GameStop, Best Buy, Amazon, Target, Smyths Toys, Fnac, Müller, and El Corte Inglés.
