Any Trading Card Game (or TCG) will eventually suspend or ban certain cards from organized play events, and this can happen for several reasons. Sometimes cards are simply found to be too overpowered, perhaps clever fans find ways to utilize cards in unforeseen ways, or cards may simply become too prevalent in competitive decks. Whatever the case, and there’s certainly any number of reasons it can happen, Star Wars Unlimited is no different, and several cards are now suspended from competitive play. Let’s take a look at them.

ToggleStar Wars Unlimited Suspended Card List
Publishers Fantasy Flight have been pretty restrained with suspending cards from competitive play in Star Wars Unlimited, and it took some time before even a single card was suspended. Here, we’ll look at each card in the order of suspension:
1. Boba Fett, Collecting the Bounty – Spark of Rebellion, Common 015/252

It’s usually the case that cards at a high level of rarity, as they tend to be more powerful, are subject to suspension. Not so for this Boba Fett Leader card from the very first Star Wars Unlimited set, Spark of Rebellion, which is a Common card! Interestingly, even at the pre-release event I personally attended for Spark of Rebellion, Boba Fett immediately grabbed the attention. One player, on a losing streak, simply switched out his Leader for Boba Fett and comfortably won the rest of his games! Though of course that’s anecdotal and only a single case, Boba Fett’s ability to easily gain resources for the player, whether deployed or not, was eventually deemed too much, and he was suspended in November 2024.
2. Triple Dark Raid – Shadows of the Galaxy, Rare, 194/262

The next suspension hit multiple cards, with three suspended at the same time in April 2025. First up is Triple Dark Raid, which allowed players to gain control of a vehicle for a single phase, at a massively reduced cost. Entering play readied, it was clearly giving players a huge, single turn advantage and made for massive swings, leading to its suspension.
3. DJ – Shadows of the Galaxy, Legendary, 213/262

Next up on the April 2025 suspended list is DJ. This card joins Triple Dark Raid as the second from Shadows of the Galaxy to be suspended, as well as the second with the Cunning aspect.
4. Jango Fett – Twilight of the Republic, Common, 016/257

The lesson we seem to be taking from these Star Wars Unlimited suspensions is: don’t get too attached to a leader with the surname “Fett”. The third and final suspension from April 2025 is the Jango Fett leader from third Star Wars Unlimited set, Twilight of the Republic.
5. Force Throw – Spark of Rebellion, Uncommon, 167/252

It might seem strange that it took so long for a card from Spark of Rebellion to get the suspension treatment, but there is an explanation. Force Throw has become much more powerful in the wake of Legends of the Force. Unsurprisingly, that set features plenty of new FORCE units, upping the effectiveness of cards like Force Throw, leading to its belated suspension.
What Does It Mean When a Card Is Suspended in Star Wars Unlimited?
Currently, all suspended cards are forbidden for play in organized play events, both tournament and casual. Twin Suns, the team variant of Star Wars Unlimited, is exempt, which means you can still use these cards in that format. Of course, as long as your opponent agrees, you’re still able to use these cards in non-organized play against other players in casual settings.
Fantasy Flight have stated that they’ll review the meta for potential suspensions at least once per set release, and this may include cards being removed from suspension and placed back into the card pool. We’ll update this list if that happens, so watch this space!
