10 Most Valuable Cards in Star Wars Unlimited: Shadows of the Galaxy

Most Valuable Shadows of the Galaxy Cards

The second set for hit trading card game, Shadows of the Galaxy, has made the Kessel Run and is here with plenty of exciting new cards for players to discover. Our Shadows of the Galaxy card list gives you the full details of exactly what’s in the new set, and there’s plenty of interesting cards that look set to shake up the established meta in Star Wars Unlimited.

Following on from our most valuable Spark of Rebellion cards list, we thought it’d be helpful to take a look at exactly what cards in Shadows of the Galaxy are the most sought after. We’ve used TCG Player to find out the current average selling prices for each card, and you might be surprised by the amounts that fans are willing to pay for these Shadows of the Galaxy cards.

So without any further ado, let’s take a look at the most valuable cards in Star Wars Unlimited: Shadows of the Galaxy!

1. Bossk, Hunting His Prey – Showcase Rare ($500)

In at the very top of our list is Bossk, Hunting His Prey; a Leader card featuring one of the bounty hunters that first appeared, albeit incredibly briefly, way back in 1980 Star Wars sequel, The Empire Strikes Back. Despite that brief and dialogue-free onscreen appearance, Bossk has gone on to appear countless times across various forms of Star Wars media, perhaps most notably in tie-in comics and video games, appearing as a playable character in the Star Wars Battlefront titles.

The valuable card in question is a Showcase Rare, which are the scarcest cards in Star Wars Unlimited. In our Spark of Rebellion pull rates guide, we’ve noted that these are found in just 1 in every 288 packs, which means you’ll need to pick up at least twelve booster boxes, on average, to have a chance of finding one. Even then, there’s absolutely no guarantee that you’ll pull a Showcase Rare, which clearly explains why these are so expensive, and why this most valuable Shadows of the Galaxy card list is stacked with cards of this rarity level!

Showcase cards also have stunning, full, alternate art in comparison to their standard variants; it is worth noting that they don’t actually do anything unique in-game, so if you want to get your hands on these cards to use in your deck, the standard versions are much cheaper and do the same things, even if they don’t look as spectacular.

In terms of what Bossk does during gameplay, as a Leader he can be deployed in unit form once you have 5 resources in play, making him reasonably fast in comparison to other Leaders. He also has an ability, which you can use as an action: exhaust Bossk, then deal 1 damage to a unit which has a Bounty attached. You can then give that unit +1 power if you choose; this is a surprisingly versatile ability, as you can use it to boost your own units that have had Bounty cards attached to them (while wounding them a little, of course) or just to wound your opponent’s Bounty units, without bestowing the power bonus upon them.

Though when deployed as a unit, most Leaders have a slight variation of their Leader-side ability, Bossk’s utilises the Bounty keyword, but in a different way. When you collect a Bounty with Bossk deployed, you can collect it a second time straight away. Though this can only be done once per turn, it’s incredibly powerful and can really turn the tide of the game.

He also has 4 power and 6 HP, which is reasonable, if not game changing!

With all of that in mind, as well as just how desirable the Showcase variant of Bossk is, it’s no surprise to see its value so high, currently selling for $500 on average!

2. Jabba the Hutt, His High Exaltedness – Showcase Rare ($496)

Originally making his first onscreen appearance in the climactic movie of the original trilogy, 1983’s Return of the Jedi, Jabba the Hutt has since appeared in a massive number of Star Wars stories. He was even retroactively placed into 1977’s Star Wars, thanks to some dodgy CGI being applied to a previously deleted scene, in the 1997 Special Edition release of the first film.

So it’s no surprise to see him making his presence felt in Star Wars Unlimited as a Leader card, especially given that Shadows of the Galaxy focuses on the seedier, gangster and smuggler ridden underbelly of the Star Wars universe.

This card, another Showcase Rare, currently sells for around $496, not far off the value of the Bossk card. As you might expect of Jabba, given his size and general bulk as a character, he’s slower to deploy as a unit, needing 7 resources in play before he can enter the ground arena. As a Leader, his ability is Bounty focused, like Bossk; however, instead of taking advantage of a unit’s current Bounty status, he can exhaust himself to give a unit a Bounty; when this Bounty is collected, and note that it only lasts for one phase, the Jabba player can play a unit for 1 resource less than its printed cost.

As a unit, Jabba has one absolutely eye-watering stat, which you’ll see at first glance: an enormous 12 HP! Though he only has 2 power, making him weak offensively, that 12 HP really makes him an absolute nuisance to deal with when deployed.

When deployed, he can immediately be used to capture an enemy non-leader unit with any of his friendly units. His action is a slight upgrade from his Leader side too, with Jabba exhausting to give a unit Bounty, then when that’s collected (during the same phase, as with his Leader side), allowing you to play a unit for 2 less resources than its printed cost.

3. Boba Fett, Daimyo – Showcase Rare ($476)

Now this is where things get really interesting, because Boba Fett appeared as a Leader card in Spark of Rebellion too. Not only that, but he was our top choice for the best Leader card overall in the first set!

Given that Spark of Rebellion focused almost entirely on the original trilogy, Boba Fett’s appearance there was based on his The Empire Strikes Back/Return of the Jedi period, prior to his near-digestion by the Sarlaac. In Shadows of the Galaxy, which mostly takes place in the post-Return of the Jedi, The Mandalorian period, Boba Fett appears in his Daimyo form, as a more benevolent ruler, based in the palace once occupied by Jabba the Hutt.

He can be deployed as a 4 power, 7 HP unit once you have 6 or more resources in play, making him fairly average in terms of his speed of deployment. His ability is really interesting, however, and allows him to exhaust if you play a unit that has any keyword, then give a friendly unit +1 power for the phase.

On his deployed, unit side, Boba Fett’s ability seriously buffs that ability, making it passive (therefore, not requiring Boba Fett himself to be exhausted to use it). As long as he’s in the Ground Arena, each other friendly unit with 1 or more keywords gets +1 power. This makes Boba Fett a serious contender for the best Leader card, again!

Perhaps it’s no wonder that his Showcase Rare variant is one of the most valuable, at $476!

4. Rey, More Than A Scavenger – Showcase Rare ($475)

SWU Shadows of the Galaxy Showcase Rey - Leader Side

Making her debut in Shadows of the Galaxy, given that Spark of Rebellion focused on the original trilogy 5era, sequel trilogy protagonist Rey is currently selling for a massive $475 on average, at least as a Showcase Rare Leader.

She has an average deployment speed of 6 resources, and when deployed she has just 2 power and a not-unreasonable 6 HP. Her Leader side’s ability allows her to exhaust and pay 1 resource to give an Experience token to a unit with 2 or less power, so she’s able to buff lower powered units throughout the game.

As a Unit, Rey’s appeal becomes more apparent; not only does she have Restore 3, which allows her to heal her Base for 3 HP when she attacks (check out our guide to all Star Wars Unlimited keywords for more details), but she can also give an Experience token to a unit with 2 or less power, again each time she attacks. So even though she doesn’t have amazingly high power herself, she can immediately grant herself one Experience token on her first attack, and then she can buff other units and simultaneously heal the Base on every subsequent attack too, making her a great offensive option.

5. The Mandalorian, Sworn to the Creed – Showcase Rare ($473)

SWU Shadows of the Galaxy Showcase The Mandalorian - Leader Side

Though you’ll find this Mandalorian Leader card, as its standard variant, in the Shadows of the Galaxy Two Player Starter set (which we’ve reviewed here), this amazing Showcase Rare is the one that collectors are keen to get their hands on. So keen, in fact, that its current average selling price is $473!

In terms of The Mandalorian’s deployment speed, it’s nothing special; 6 resources are needed before you can get The Mandalorian into your Ground Arena as a 4 power, 7 HP unit. His Leader ability allows you to exhaust him when you play an upgrade, and if you do, you can then exhaust an enemy unit which has 4 HP or less remaining.

As a unit, The Mandalorian’s stats are pretty good (the aforementioned 4 power and 7 HP), and his ability is improved massively, becoming incredibly useful: whenever you play an upgrade, you may exhaust an enemy unit which has 5 HP or less remaining. Given that even in the starter set, The Mandalorian’s deck is focused around upgrades, this is likely to prove pretty devastating in the current meta of Star Wars Unlimited.

6. Kylo Ren, Rash and Deadly – Showcase Rare ($445)

SWU Shadows of the Galaxy Showcase Kylo Ren - Leader Side

One of the major antagonists of the sequel trilogy, Kylo Ren makes his debut as a Leader in Shadows of the Galaxy, with his Showcase Rare variant currently selling for $445 on average.

Kylo Ren’s speed is truly impressive, with him being able to deploy as a unit after you have just 4 resources in play; as a 5 power, 4 HP unit he might not be the most resilient character, but he’s certainly very powerful when attacking. Ability-wise, Kylo Ren will allow you to give a friendly unit +2 power for the phase it’s used on, for the cost of exhausting him and discarding a card from your hand.

As a unit, Kylo Ren’s impulsive and self-destructive nature is showcased, with a passive ability that’s sure to cost him popularity among players; when he’s deployed, he gets -1 power for each card in your hand, forcing you to make sure you’re not holding onto too many, if any at all, cards when he attacks, or defends.

7. Cad Bane, He Who Needs No Introduction – Showcase Rare ($437)

Yes, we know that Cad Bane’s card is subtitled ‘He Who Needs No Introduction’, but let’s go against that and introduce him anyway. Cad Bane was first seen in the long running, hugely popular animated series, The Clone Wars. A ruthless bounty hunter, he’s also popped up in live action, in The Book of Boba Fett.

So, in Star Wars Unlimited, Cad Bane’s Leader card can be exhausted to deal 1 damage to an opponent’s unit; the trick is that the opponent chooses which unit is to be damaged. Deploying after you have 6 resources in play, he’ll enter the Ground Arena as a 2 power, 8 HP unit.

Though his power may seem low, when attacking, Cad Bane gets a +2 power bonus, thanks to his Raid 2 keyword. Also, whenever you play an Underworld card with Cad Bane deployed, once per round you can deal 2 damage to an enemy unit, though just like the Leader ability, your opponent chooses which unit takes that HP hit.

At $437 for the Showcase Rare variant, Cad Bane might not need an introduction, but to get hold of this version of the card, you’ll definitely need a good bit of cash set aside!

8. Lando Calrissian, With Impeccable Taste – Showcase Rare ($435)

SWU Shadows of the Galaxy Showcase Lando - Leader Side

Though Lando did appear in Spark of Rebellion, in his original trilogy form, Shadows of the Galaxy brings Lando in as a Leader for the first time, depicted earlier on in his life, back when he was less respectable businessman, more charming, well-dressed smuggler (and owner of the Millennium Falcon). This version of Lando, played by Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) in the movie Solo: A Star Wars Story, is a Showcase Rare that currently sells for $435 on average.

Just like Kylo Ren, Lando can enter the Ground Arena when just 4 resources are in play, and his ability allows you to play a card using Smuggle for 2 less than its cost, but you’ll also need to defeat another one of your resources (and exhaust) if you do this.

As a unit, Lando has just 2 power and 5 HP, with the same ability allowing you to play a card using Smuggle for 2 resources less than its cost, as long as you discard one of your own resources too. It can only be used once per round.

Though clever players are likely to be able to find some ways to positively exploit Lando’s ability, more casual players may struggle to put it to practical use; it’s definitely one of the least obvious abilities, in terms of its outward and immediate usefulness.

9. Bo-Katan Kryze, Princess in Exile – Showcase Rare ($388)

Another character who made their debut in The Clone Wars before also appearing in Star Wars Rebels and then making the jump to live action (in this case, in the Disney Plus series The Mandalorian), Bo-Katan Kryze is a Mandalorian herself, searching for the weapon that’ll allow her to retake her homeworld: The Darksaber.

As a Leader, she can deploy after a fairly average length of time: when 6 resources are in play. Her ability allows her to exhaust and deal 1 damage to a unit, as long as one of your Mandalorian units attacked in the same phase.

As a unit, she’s got a decent 4 power and 7 HP; when she attacks, she can deal 1 HP of damage to a unit too. As a bonus, if you attacked with another Mandalorian unit in the same phase, you can deal another 1 HP of damage to a unit!

As a Showcase Rare variant, Bo-Katan Kryze sells for a not-inconsiderable $388 on average; it might be cheaper to get your hands on an actual Darksaber yourself, than this particular version of the card!

10. Han Solo, Worth the Risk – Showcase Rare ($365)

SWU Shadows of the Galaxy Showcase Han Solo - Leader Side

Han Solo is a character who’s already featured as a Leader card in Star Wars Unlimited, back in Spark of Rebellion. However, this one features Han in his younger guise, much like Lando, from Solo: A Star Wars Story. This one is also much riskier to use, as you’ll soon see!

His ability allows you to exhaust him, then play a unit card from your hand for one resource less than its printed cost. Doesn’t sound so bad, right? Except you also have to immediately deal 2 HP of damage to the unit you just played as an extra cost!

Han deploys at a just above average speed, when you have 5 or more resources in play, and he enters the Ground Arena as a 3 power, 6 HP unit.

SWU Shadows of the Galaxy Showcase Han Solo - Unit Side

Just like Lando before him, Han’s ability is incredibly risky and perhaps befits his cockiness and gambling-happy nature; in unit form, you can also play a unit card from your hand for 1 less resource as long as you deal 2 damage to it. Crucially, this isn’t a ‘once per round’ deal; it’s an Action, and Han doesn’t have to exhaust either. So as long as you’re willing to put your units at risk with their HP, you should be able to get plenty in play each round!

Though this variant of the card (a Showcase Rare, as are all of the other cards on this list) does cost $365 on average, just like the other cards here, the standard variant isn’t prohibitively expensive. If you do want the fanciest cards from Shadows of the Galaxy, however, you can see that it’ll end up being quite costly to collect them all!
