One of the best aspects of collectable card game UniVersus is that, regardless of the set of genre your cards belong to, everything is cross compatible.
So if you want to pit a classic Street Fighter character against one from My Hero Academia, Cowboy Bebop or Yu Yu Hakusho, it’s perfectly possible to do so.
Even when the card back is different, as it’s seen some evolution over the years since the game began as UFS (Universal Fighting System) way back in 2005.
Take a look at my UniVersus card back design guide for more details.
It also means that new characters, stories and universes can be added to the game for even more exciting, action packed clashes; one of the latest sets to have been announced is the Godzilla: Challenger Series.

ToggleWhat Cards Have Been Revealed For Godzilla: Challenger Series?
At present, four cards have been revealed.
These are variants of the cards that head up the two Challenger Series decks; Godzilla and King Ghidorah character cards: Godzilla, King of the Monsters and King Ghidorah, Emperor of the Cosmos.
Each is shown in its standard art form, as well as its alternate art variant.
What Decks Will Be Released For Godzilla: Challenger Series?
There are two Godzilla: Challenger Series decks, one featuring Godzilla and Mothra, the other featuring King Ghidorah and Rodan.
These are all hugely popular characters from the Godzilla series; judging by the cards that have already been revealed, there’s no doubt that the characters will feature gameplay mechanics that strongly reflect their move sets and abilities.
Challenger Series decks, as we’ve already seen with the Cowboy Bebop and Trigun Stampede releases, tend to be more suited for experienced UniVersus players.
This is due to their reliance on slightly more complex mechanics to carry out combos and use numerous abilities; it’s clear from the Godzilla and King Ghidorah cards revealed above that this is almost certainly going to be the case with these decks too.
When Will The Godzilla: Challenger Series Decks Be Available?
The launch date for the Godzilla: Challenger Series decks is June 21st, 2024.
