how to redeem mtg arena codes

Grab those special cards – we’re going to check out how to redeem your MTG Arena Codes!

Since being released in 2019, Magic: The Gathering (or MTG) Arena has seen huge success.

More than 3 million players signed up that year alone – and many millions more are projected to have signed up to play the newest online version of the world’s leading CCG since then!

Available on PC, as well as Mac, iOS and Android devices, MTG Arena see players facing off against opponents with digital collections of cards, building decks in Standard format games and drafting cards from digital boosters in Limited format games.

Cards can be purchased with real world currency, using gems or in-game currency (which can also buy access to matches in MTG Arena).

Yet card packs can also be unlocked using codes found in certain, real world packs of Magic: The Gathering cards. You can also find some codes online (check out the list of codes in an article on our sister site, Retro Dodo: all MTG Arena codes.

Let’s take a look at where the Arena-specific cards can be found – and how to redeem MTG Arena codes!

1. Where can MTG Arena codes be found?

Some Magic: The Gathering products contain MTG Arena code cards, which usually unlock the same cards as those found in the physical set they’re found in.

Currently, you can find MTG Arena codes in MTG Arena Starter Kits and in some legacy, pre-constructed decks too – though you may struggle to find the latter at retail, as these will now be a few years old at least.

There are two code cards in MTG Starter Kits, as each contains two physical decks for two players to learn how to play.

Most MTG sets have their own, corresponding Starter Kit – for example, the upcoming Lord of the Rings MTG set will have its own two player Starter Kit, complete with two MTG Arena code cards.

There’s nothing stopping you from using both – and unlocking each deck – on one MTG Arena account though!

2. Where can I redeem these MTG Arena codes?

Despite being available on mobile, MTG Arena will only allow you to redeem codes on the PC or Mac versions of the game – or via your Wizards of the Coast account page.

Thankfully, it’s very easy to redeem MTG Arena codes, despite the fact that you can’t do this on the Android and iOS versions.

3. How do I redeem MTG Arena Codes on PC/Mac?

If you’re looking to redeem your codes on the PC/Mac version of MTG Arena, simply open the game on your computer and click the Store tab (found at the top of the page). A small text box in the top right corner which says ‘Redeem Code’ will be there – just copy your code into this text box, press enter and you’re done!

4. How do I redeem MTG Arena Codes on my Wizards of the Coast account page?

If you’d rather just do this via your Wizards of the Coast account page, that’s an easy process too.

Just log in with your MTG Arena account (you can use this link); on the right side of your account dashboard, there’s a ‘Redeem a code’ field.

Type or paste the code into that field and click redeem – and that’s it!
