Two Pokémon Trading Card Game (or TCG) sets were released in the first months of 2025, and fans didn’t have to wait long for the third set of the year. Following the launch of Prismatic Evolutions in January and Journey Together in March, the next set, Destined Rivals, was released on May 30th, 2025. Destined Rivals features cards from the Japanese sets, Heat Wave Arena and The Glory of Team Rocket; let’s take a look at the cards in the set.

The set code for Destined Rivals is DRI, and you can see this in the bottom left of each card (the EN beside the set code notes that it’s the English version of the card). Next to this on each card is the specific card number; these are numbered from 1-182, as there are 182 cards in the Destined Rivals main set. Destined Rivals: Secret Rare Card Gallery
Though each Pokémon set has a designated number of cards, if you’re lucky enough, you’ll also find cards in booster packs which are numbered above the “official” number of cards in a set. These are known collectively as Secret Rare cards, and they tend to most commonly be alternate art and special foil treated variants of other cards found in the set. They also tend to be the most highly sought after, and therefore valuable, cards in any given set. In Destined Rivals, we know that the number of cards in the main set is 182; therefore, the Secret Rare cards are numbered from 183 onwards. When Was Destined Rivals Released?

Destined Rivals was released on the 30th of May, 2025. Pre-release events, at which players can get their hands on cards and use them to play battles against other Pokémon fans before they go on general sale, took place over the week beforehand.
