Disclose cards in Star Wars Unlimited

The sixth set for Star Wars Unlimited is Secrets of Power, and its themes of espionage and subterfuge are reflected in the new mechanics it brings to the game. The Plot keyword (check out our guide to how Plot works in Star Wars Unlimited) is one new mechanic, but there’s also “disclose” too. Though not a keyword, it’s featured on numerous cards in Secrets of Power. So how does it work? Let’s find out!

Using Disclose in Star Wars Unlimited

Some cards, such as the With Thunderous Applause card pictured above, do explain how disclose works, but not all of them do. Disclose means that, to get a bonus effect from a card, you must reveal a card (or cards) from your hand which match the aspect icon (or multiple aspect icons) listed as part of the disclose bonus. In this example, when you play With Thunderous Applause, you give a unit -2 Power and -2 HP for the duration of the phase, but if you also use disclose, you may give a second unit -2 Power and -2 HP too. As the green Command aspect is shown, the card you reveal to your opponent must have this aspect icon, in order for you to be able to use the bonus.

Things get more complicated when multiple aspects are required. In the case of the above Mina Bonteri card, to use disclose, you’ll need to reveal at least two Command aspects and one gold Heroism aspect on any combination of cards from your hand. This seems somewhat costly as an action, in our humble opinion; this can only been used when Mina Bonteri is defeated, and only allows you to draw a single card. However, depending on where you’re at in your game of Star Wars Unlimited when Mina Bonteri is defeated, having access to that extra card may well be crucial!

So there you have it; now you’re prepared for exactly how disclose works in Star Wars Unlimited. While you’re here, why not check out our gallery of the cards in Secrets of Power? You can also check out our updated guide to card rarities in Star Wars Unlimited too!
