Here at Card Gamer, we find ourselves dabbling not just in digital card games, but other types of video games too. The Goat Simulator games, for example, have long been a favorite of mine; the delightfully silly, open world chaos simulators began life as a joke, but rapidly became so much more. Almost unbelievably given the initial, meme-like status of the the first game, it celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2024 with a remastered version, following the release of the second game in the series, Goat Simulator 3 (I told you they were silly), which was a much bigger, more ambitious and even funnier experience. The series has proven so popular that it’s now escaping the confines of the digital realm, and heading for the tabletop; series mascot, Pilgor the Goat, along with plenty of other familiar characters, are making their debuts in cardboard form, with Goat Simulator: The Card Game having just launched its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.
What Is Goat Simulator: The Card Game All About?
Fans of the Goat Simulator games will likely be chaotically headbutting their way to the front of the line for the card game, in which you’ll modify your goats with silly outfits and accessories, sabotage the other players and generally cause as much mischief and mayhem as possible while trying to become the head goat. Oh, and there’s a throwable, plush goat too. Check out the game’s trailer below:
Goat Simulator fans can pledge for the card game at one of three tiers:
- €20 will secure the Retail Edition for fans; this is the base game alone (in all its “goaty glory”, according to the announcement from collaborators Coffee Stain North and MOOD Publishing).
- €30 nets players the Exclusive Box Edition, which is not only packaged in a shiny, themed tin, but also has both the base game and exclusive card packs too.
- €50 is the highest tier, and this is for the Exclusive Box Edition & Add-ons. The biggest Goat Simulator fans won’t want to miss out on this one; it features the same items and packaging at the Exclusive Box Edition, but also features extras such as a neoprene play mat and a bigger plush goat to throw around.
Those aforementioned Goat Simulator fans (yes, that includes me) will want to get their pledges in early; anyone who manages to secure their pledge within the first 24 hours of the Kickstarter campaign going live will also receive a special, metal Pilgor coin.
Check out Goat Simulator: The Card Game‘s Kickstarter page here; we will of course be keeping a close eye on the campaign ourselves, and we’ll be covering the game itself as release nears too!
