Though Disney Lorcana’s fifth set, Shimmering Skies, has only recently found its way into the hands of eager players and collectors, publisher Ravensburger have now announced the name and details of the game’s sixth set.
Due to arrive in November, Disney Lorcana’s sixth set is Azurite Sea, and moves on from the party atmosphere of Shimmering Skies, for an equally colourful and swashbuckling adventure that’s sure to take players on yet another exciting expedition through the magical world of Lorcana.
What’s New In The Azurite Sea Set?
The Azurite Sea set will feature pirates such as Treasure Planet’s Jim Hawkins, a shipmate version of Tigger and a buccaneering Stitch too. Along with these are several characters who are making their first appearance in Disney Lorcana altogether.
New to Azurite Sea are Chip and Dale, in their adventurous Rescue Rangers form. They’ll be joined by several more members of the Rescue Rangers cast, which is sure to provide some genuine pangs of nostalgia for 90s cartoon fans!
You’ll also find all members of the super hero team, Big Hero 6, stars of the Disney movie of the same name. Given that Big Hero 6 is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year (yes, we feel really old now), a jaunt into its appealingly colourful and high tech super hero universe is definitely well timed!
We’ve yet to see any Location cards (which made their debut in the third Lorcana set, Into The Inklands), but Ravensburger have shown a new Action card: Rescue Rangers Away!, which you can see above. This card is pretty powerful, and makes a chosen Character lose a point of Strength for each Character the Action card player has in play, until the start of the same player’s next turn. This can prove massively game changing, particularly if your opponent is relying on one or two overwhelmingly powerful characters. At the cost of just two Ink to play, this may well be a card that pops up a lot once Azurite Sea is released!

What Products Will Be Released As Part Of The Azure Sea Set?
You can expect to see booster packs (and booster boxes, if you’re feeling particularly Scrooge McDuck levels of wealthy), an Illumineer’s Trove and a Stitch-focused Gift Set. The Illumineer’s Trove contains 8 booster packs, card dividers, a Lore tracker and damage dice, with the Gift Set featuring a Stitch promo card, 4 booster packs and a special card portfolio binder.

When Will Azurite Sea Be Released?
The launch pattern for Disney Lorcana sets is always broadly the same; dedicated game/hobby stores receive their stock at least a week before mainstream and online retailers do. This remains the same for Azurite Sea, which will be released to hobby stores on the 15th of November, 2024, and then to mainstream and online retailers (think Best Buy, Walmart and Amazon, for example) on the 25th of November, 2024.
Though we don’t have any other details on the set at this stage, we’re sure that Azurite Sea will be just as exciting as previous sets for Disney Lorcana, and it’ll no doubt be eagerly snapped up by fans of the game!
