Star Wars Unlimited: Spark Of Rebellion Product List Revealed

Star Wars Unlimited Cover

Prepare to take your card gaming into hyperspace and battle in a galaxy far, far away with all-new Star Wars Unlimited: Spark Of Rebellion TCG Sets!

Magic: The Gathering – the world’s first collectable card game (CCG) – is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, which has turned out to be one of the biggest ever for CCGs.

We’ve had Yu-Gi-Oh reach its own quarter of a century milestone, Pokemon releasing the hugely exciting, nostalgia-fuelled Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: 151 set and Ravensburger releasing Disney Lorcana, which has been a massive commercial and critical success.

With all of the interest in the sector, perhaps its no wonder that Fantasy Flight Games have decided to once more tap into their Star Wars license, for a new Star Wars Trading Card Game (TCG – you can check out our article that explains the difference between TCG and CCG for more information).

Set for release in 2024, Fantasy Flight have already released lots of information on Star Wars Unlimited – as the new TCG is called – to whet the appetite of fans and collectors alike.

For example, check out our Star Wars Unlimited Card List to see which cards have been revealed so far.

However, Fantasy Flight have now released information on what products will be available for the first Star Wars Unlimited set, which is named Spark of Rebellion.

Let’s take a look at each one!

1. Spark Of Rebellion Pre-Release Box ($29.99)

Due a whole week before the official release of Spark of Rebellion, it seems that Fantasy Flight are following the lead of games such as Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering (MTG).

With the Pokemon Trading Card Game and MTG, cards for most new sets are usually first available at in-store pre-release events, with booster packs in special boxes and bonus packs available for players who take part in tournaments at said events.

The Star Wars Unlimited Pre-Release Box looks to be in a similar mould to the Pokemon and MTG releases, in that it will be available at any participating store as part of a special event.

The box will contain 6 booster packs, 2 promo cards, quickstart rules, damage counters, a deck building guide and a deck box.

Again, as with Pokemon and MTG’s equivalent products, this is specifically designed to give players everything they need to participate in a pre-release tournament.

2. Spark Of Rebellion Two Player Starter Set ($34.99)

Star Wars Unlimited Two Player Starter Set

Many players who are interested in jumping on board with Star Wars Unlimited: Spark of Rebellion, may not be keen enough to throw themselves in at the deep end – with a tournament at a pre-release event.

Which is fair enough, as pre-release events – as exciting as they are – can sometimes be quite intimidating and incredibly competitive environments.

So the best entry point, for fans looking for a more casual way to play Star Wars Unlimited, is undoubtedly the Spark of Rebellion Two Player Starter Set.

With the pre-release box containing a random collection of cards, with no fixed or guaranteed cards in the box’s booster packs (take a look at our guide to Star Wars Unlimited Card Rarities to see the different types of card you may find in your packs), it’s also daunting for more casual players by design – because you’ll need to learn how to put together a deck from a completely random set of cards.

There’s no such pressure with the Star Wars Unlimited: Spark of Rebellion Two Player Starter Set, as it contains two 50 card decks, ready to play straight out of the box.

In addition to these, the Two Player Starter Set also contain damage counters, a quick start rules guide, 2 paper play mats and 2 deck boxes – so it really is everything that two players need to begin their adventure in Star Wars Unlimited.

Intriguingly, the Starter pack includes exclusive cards that cannot be found in booster packs – giving the hardcore, tournament-playing fans a reason to pick up this box set!

3. Spark Of Rebellion Booster Packs ($4.99 each, 24 packs per box of boosters)

Of course, the next stage for players once they’ve got to grips with Star Wars Unlimited: Spark of Rebellion are booster packs.

The booster packs for Star Wars Unlimited seem incredibly generous in terms of card count – with 16 cards per pack – and there also seems to be lots of opportunities to find alternate art and cards with special holographic foil treatments too.

In fact, we’ve covered this already in our Star Wars Unlimited: Spark of Rebellion Pull Rates article – which will give you a lot of helpful insight on what you might expect to find in each booster pack.

To summarise, you’ll get a mixture of Common cards and Uncommon cards, along with at least one Rare (or Legendary) card, along with a leader card, a base card and a foil card (which can be of any rarity).

4. Casual Play Kits ($N/A)

You’ll note that the retail price for this kit is not applicable; that’s because the Casual Play Kit is to be used by the retailers hosting pre-release events, to both assist players with their deck building and provide prizes to be given out to tournament winners.

So what does it include?

Slightly cryptically, Fantasy Flight have assured that the Casual Play Kit will complement the pre-release boxes, by ‘ensuring that each player in the event has at least one base of each color’.

Which is likely – but not confirmed – to mean that it’ll contain a large number of bases in each colour, to be used where needed, by players lacking those base colours in their pre-release packs.

Alongside these base cards – and if the accompanying image is a reliable indicator – there’ll be 24 booster packs, which can be used as prizes for winners and participants of the pre-release tournament.

Will Other Products Be Available For Star Wars Unlimited?

Given that branded card sleeves, binders and other accessories are usually available when a new Trading Card Game launches, we wouldn’t be surprised to see these also make their way to store shelves when Star Wars Unlimited is released.

We don’t yet have any details of what may be available, however – so it’s a good opportunity to check out Card Gamer’s own recommendations for the best trading card sleeves and best trading card binders, so you’ll be fully kitted out with the best ways to protect and store your Star Wars cards from day one!
