An annual tradition since 2022, Trick or Trade cards are found in 3-card booster packs, purchased as BOOster Bundles and intended to be given out, as a dental friendly alternative to candy, to eager trick or treaters on Halloween. As they’re so widely available, and each card is a reprint of one previously issued, they tend to be extremely cheap and easy to collect. Let’s take a look at which Trick or Trade Pokémon cards are the most valuable!
Table of Contents
Toggle10. Flutter Mane (Cosmos Holo) – Trick or Trade 2024, Holo Rare 078/162

With a name like Flutter Mane, you might not expect this particular Pokémon to fit the spooky profile of a Trick or Trade card. Yet one look at its illustration does show quite a sinister looking Pokémon! Trick or Trade cards are characterized by their Pumpkin Pikachu stamp, which you can see in the bottom right corner of the artwork.
9. Umbreon – Trick or Trade 2024, Uncommon 130/197

Aside from the Pumpkin Pikachu stamp, there’s little difference between these cards and their original printings. This Umbreon, as do most of the other cards on this list, features its three letter set code in the bottom left. OBF means that it’s from the Obsidian Flames set originally, and it also has the same card number as its original printing too.
8. Mimikyu (Cosmos Holo) – Trick or Trade 2024, Holo Rare 037/091

The 2024 Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle featured some cards with a cosmos holo treatment. This Mimikyu is one of them, and it’s a really striking treatment, making the card look a lot more attractive than you may expect from a relatively cheap set of reprints!
7. Mewtwo – Trick or Trade 2022, Promo 056/172

Mewtwo is another one of those Pokémon which doesn’t exactly fit the spooky theme of the Trick or Trade set. However, given that it’s a Psychic type Pokémon and Mewtwo is depicted looking pretty intimidating here, I guess The Pokémon Company can be forgiven for stretching the theme somewhat!
6. Pikachu – Trick or Trade 2023, Common 062/193

Yet then there’s Pikachu, who has appeared in all Trick or Trade sets so far. Of course, Pikachu is the de facto mascot of Pokémon, so it’s perhaps not surprising to see the little electric mouse included in Trick or Trade, but they’re not even trying to make it fit the scary theme!
5. Gengar (Dated 2021) – Trick or Trade 2022, Promo 057/198

Gengar makes up for it though, as a properly sinister-looking Pokémon. Just look at those eyes, and of course that tongue! One of the cards from the earliest Trick or Trade set, Gengar is a very popular choice for collectors of Trick or Trade cards, as you’ll see.
4. Pikachu (Cosmos Holo) – Trick or Trade 2024, Holo Rare 018/091

If you think it’s a bit of a cynical choice to include Pikachu in Trick or Trade sets, it’s even more so knowing that this card features the exact same artwork as the previous year’s Pikachu. However, note that at least this one has the Cosmos Holo treatment, making it a more sought after card.
3. Gengar (Dated 2022) – Trick or Trade 2023, Holo Rare 066/196

Scary Gengar is here again. Told you it was a popular one for Trick or Trade, didn’t we? This one is from the very first Trick or Trade set, and it’s a holographic version of Gengar which first appeared in Lost Origin.
2. Munkidori (Cosmos Holo) – Trick or Trade 2024, Holo Rare 095/167

Munkidori is another sinister-looking Pokémon who definitely belongs in the Trick or Trade set. This card originally appeared in the Twilight Masquerade set, which is itself not short of a spooky Pokémon or two!
1. Gengar (Cosmos Holo) – Trick or Trade 2024, Holo Rare 057/091

Finally, the most valuable Trick or Trade card of all is this 2024 Gengar, another excellent Cosmos Holo card. It’s worth noting that even though this is the most valuable Trick or Trade card, it’s not expensive at all. Trick or Trade sets are actually among the most accessible and cost effective sets to complete. Not only is each card pretty cheap to pick up, but there’s a low number of cards in each set too. So what are you waiting for, spooky season?
