Most Valuable Topps F1 Cards Ever Made

Valuable Topps F1 Cards

It’s time to start your engines and aim for pole position – as we check out the most valuable F1 Topps cards!

Leading trading card publisher Topps made a name for themselves by publishing baseball cards alongside sets featuring their own characters and settings.

Over the years, they’ve seen huge success with countless sets based on Star Wars – right from the original movie’s release back in 1977 – as well as sets featuring personalities from sports, aside from baseball, too.

In recent years, the demand for – and, subsequently, value of – F1 trading cards has rocketed.

Unsurprisingly, Topps have found themselves at the forefront of this renewed interest from collectors and Formula 1 racing fans.

Which means that many of the F1 cards that Topps have released have sold for some seriously eye-watering amounts.

Seeing some of these sky-high prices piqued the interest of us here at Card Gamer – so we took a look at the highest values that Topps F1 cards have sold for over on eBay.

Which are the priciest, though?

Let’s find out, as we check out the most valuable F1 Topps cards!

1. Topps Chrome F1 – George Russell Autograph, 2020 ($12,500)

Topps F1 Card - George Russell Autograph

After seeing great success in other divisions – with Formula 4, GP3 and Formula 2 Championships under his belt by by the age of 20 – George Russell joined Mercedes as a reserve driver in 2018.

Signing with Williams in 2019, he earned his first F1 points in 2020 and was released by Williams to return to Mercedes, deputising for none other than Lewis Hamilton when Hamilton tested positive for COVID-19.

Though retained by Williams in 2021, Russell left and joined Mercedes in 2022 – where he remains, alongside Hamilton.

So despite only being 25 years of age, it’s fair to say that Russell has already had quite an impressive amount of experience – so perhaps it’s no surprise that this rising star’s autographed Topps Chrome card is currently valued so highly.

Though it didn’t sell for the asking price of $12,500, the seller accepted a best offer which we can’t see the details of.

Therefore, we don’t know the true value of this Topps Chrome card from 2020 – which features Russell in his Williams team livery – but it’s fair to say that it’s almost certainly higher than the second place card on the list of the most valuable F1 Topps cards.

Graded at 8 for the card’s condition, this is likely to become much more valuable as Russell’s experience and success continues.

As you’ll soon discover, this isn’t the only time that Russell appears in this list either!

2. Topps Chrome F1 – Sebastian Vettel SuperFractor, 2022 ($4,500)

Topps Sebastian Vettel F1 Card

In our other Topps card lists – such as our most valuable Topps Star Wars cards or most valuable Topps Pokemon cards articles – you’ll note that, understandably, cards that are 1/1 with no other copies in existence tend to be the most valuable.

Much like The One Ring in Magic: The Gathering – which Post Malone now owns, having bought it for a seven figure sum – these cards are highly prized among collectors.

After all, how cool is it to know that you’re the only person in the entire world with a particular card?

Topps have special one-off cards called ‘SuperFractors’ – though not all 1/1 cards from Topps are SuperFractors, all SuperFractors are definitely 1/1!

Still with us?

Though the Sebastian Vettel SuperFractor – a Topps Chrome card from the 2022 F1 series – doesn’t reach the heady heights of value that, say, The One Ring has, it’s still one that’s sold for a very good price on eBay.

$4,500 is definitely not to be sniffed at – and that’s even without this card being graded.

I suspect that the new card’s owner is likely to protect their investment and increase its value significantly by having it graded – and perhaps we’ll see this card take the number one spot at some point!

3. Topps Dynasty F1 – Kimi Raikkonen Premium Relic Autograph Card 1/1, 2021 ($3,300)

Topps Kimi Raikkonen F1 Card

The Topps Dynasty sets are an almost unbelievably premium product; each box contains just one card, yet sells at over $1,000 even at recommended retail price, before they hit the secondary market.

That’s because each card is unique in some way, featuring one off-pieces of clothing relating to the featured personality. Plus, they’re autographed, either by a driver or a prominent F1 team member.

Some cards even feature multiple autographs, with dual or triple signature cards to be found!

With this particular card featuring Finnish F1 driver Kimi Raikonnen – who won the championship in 2007 – it was also released in the year that Raikonnen retired from F1.

That last piece of information probably explains why this relic card, featuring Raikonnen’s signature as well as a piece of his actual race gear, fetched a higher price than other Topps Dynasty cards.

4. Topps Dynasty F1 – George Russell Premium Relic Autograph Card – Triple Patch, 2020 ($3,200)

Topps George Russell F1 Relic Card

Just like the number one entry on our list of the most valuable F1 Topps cards, this card features rising star, George Russell.

It’s another from one of the Topps Dynasty sets, so naturally this one was bound to sell for a high price.

However, it’s numbered 1 of 5, despite featuring three entirely unique relic pieces (so there really isn’t another card out there exactly like this one).

This one also sold for a best offer price, though we can only go on its listing price unfortunately, with the actual value it sold for hidden from public view.

That said, it’s hard to believe that this card sold for much less than its $3,200 listing price!

5. Topps Chrome F1 – George Russell #19 SP Image Variation Card – 2020 ($2,499)

Topps George Russell Graded 10 F1 Card

Yes, that’s right – George Russell occupies three spots in our most valuable F1 Topps card list!

This variant is from one of the Topps Chrome sets – and, with the designation SP, is a special, short print run card that’s especially hard to find.

So with this card being a rarer variant of the George Russell card, the owner was smart enough to have it graded – and it was rated at the highest level of Gem Mint 10 by the PSA!

Naturally, that’s significantly increased this card’s value; though it did sell for less than the asking price, it’s very likely that it’ll rise even higher, in value terms, over the coming years.
