Anime series Pokemon Horizons launched in 2023 in Japan, followed by a 2024 launch in the US. As the first animated show not to feature long-running protagonist Ash Ketchum and Pikachu as the main characters, it feels like a show that’s ushering in a new era.
So it makes sense that the series would be cross promoted with the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG), and thanks to the keen Pokefans over at Pokebeach, we’ve seen that the series will indeed feature on cards for the TCG.
Somewhat bizarrely, however, the Pokemon Horizons: The Series card set appears to only be releasing in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and will comprise of just three promo cards (one of which is oversized and, therefore, unplayable!), packaged in a blister pack with 10 booster packs from the Stellar Miracle set. So let’s take a look at the card list so far for the special, seemingly one-off, Pokemon Horizons: The Series TCG set!

With just three cards included, here are the images of what you’ll get if you pick up a Pokemon Horizons: The Series blister pack:
The names of the cards are as follows:
- Terapagos and Friends
- Sprigatito
- Fuecoco
Which Card From The Pokemon Horizons Pack Is Oversized?
You can see from the image of the Pokemon Horizons blister pack above that the oversized card included is the Terapagos and Friends card, featuring Liko and Roy, the main characters from the new animated series, along with The Rising Volt Tacklers and (of course!) Terapagos itself. It’s also the first card to feature the normal form of Terapagos in the TCG!
Though unplayable, this is a pretty cool card; despite only having 90 HP, it can deal 100 HP damage for each Pokemon you have in play (thanks to Law T for the translation, again via Pokebeach).
Are The Sprigatito and Fuecoco Cards New?
Despite the fact that the artwork on these cards is new, and features main characters Liko (with her Sprigatito) and Roy (with his Fuecoco), along with the Pokemon Horizons logo, these are not new versions of the two Starter Pokemon. In fact, these cards are identical, from a stats and attacks perspective, to the Sprigatito and Fuecoco cards that were first seen in the Scarlet & Violet Base set, and Paldea Evolved.
As you can see, there’s nothing particularly special about these cards, but the Promo versions included with the Pokemon Horizons pack may well become especially collectible due to the unique artwork, along with the fact that they may only be available in certain territories. So don’t be surprised if you do see their value skyrocket, way past the usual asking price for these two common Starter Pokemon in their normal guises!
When Will The Pokemon Horizon: The Series Pack Be Released?
This special pack will be released on August 2nd, and is currently only releasing in Hong Kong and Taiwan. This is the same day that the anime itself launches in those two countries, as well as being the same day that Stellar Miracle launches too.
Of course, if we do hear that the Pokemon Horizons cards are to make their way either to Japan or into Western, English language sets, we’ll be sure to update this list with the information and card images as and when details are revealed, so watch this space!
