Pokemon Paradise Dragona Japanese Card List (So Far)

Pokemon Paradise Dragona Japanese Card List

Time waits for no one, and nowhere is that more apparent than with the accelerated release schedule for Japanese Pokemon sets! Though English language sets often have a wait of at least a few months between them, the Pokemon TCG sets tend to release at a faster rate, and also tend to be made up of smaller sets of cards; when we get the translated sets in English, they’re usually an amalgam of cards from two or more different Japanese sets.

Despite this, it’s often worth checking out Japanese sets, as they’ll give you great insight as to what is to come for English sets, a little further down the line. With the last set to be released in Japan being Stellar Miracle (check out the full card list for that set here), the next set has now been confirmed as Paradise Dragona, which is due to be released in September.

So let’s take a look at the Pokemon Paradise Dragona Japanese Card List so far!

Paradise Dragona: Base Set Card Gallery

Without including Secret Rare cards (which we explain, and feature, in the following section of this list), there are just 64 cards in the base set for Paradise Dragona. A previous set, Night Wanderer, had the sv6a set code on each card, as it was a ‘mini’ set. Following that, Stellar Miracle was a ‘full’ set, and as such its set code was sv7. As Paradise Dragona is another mini set, its set code (which you’ll see on the bottom left of each card) is sv7a. Here’s the full gallery of images from the base set:

With the cards in the above gallery being in Japanese, and with only some of them being recognisable Pokemon, it’s useful to know the name of each card in English. Do note, however, that the card names here aren’t always final; they may be translated with slightly different names when they make their way to an English set:

Paradise Dragona: Secret Rare Card Gallery

All Pokemon sets have cards that are numbered above the stated number of cards in the set. For example, Paradise Dragona’s Base Set is composed of 64 cards, but it features cards numbered from 65 onwards! These are known as Secret Rares, and among these cards you’ll find alternate art and special foil treatment variants of cards in the Base Set (as well as, in some cases, the odd card or two from another set in a special variant, such as gold Hyper Rare, that it hasn’t been printed in before). So let’s take a look at the Secret Rare cards for Paradise Dragona:

Paradise Dragona: Secret Rare Card List

As is the case with the list of cards in the Base Set, it’s helpful to know the names of each card shown above, as it’s not always clear what each card is. Do also note once more that sometimes, cards aren’t translated to say exactly the same card name as they are in Japanese; however, this generally applies only to certain Trainer cards:

  • 065/064 Exeggcute
  • 066/064 Shiinotic
  • 067/064 Castform (Sunny Form)
  • 069/064 Cetitan
  • 070/064 Latios
  • 071/064 Vibrava
  • 074/064 Flapple
  • 075/064 Appletun
  • 083/064 Drayton
  • 085/064 Drasna
  • 086/064 Lisia
  • 087/064 Latias ex
  • 088/064 Archaludon ex
  • 089/064 Alolan Exeggutor ex

What’s New In Paradise Dragona?

Though it’s not the first Tera Pokemon ex to be a Dragon type, Alolan Exeggutor ex (pictured above) is the first Tera Pokemon ex to be an Alolan evolution! There’s also a new Ace Spec card, Rich Energy, which is pictured below.

Other than those two cards (and a few other Ace Spec cards that look pretty impressive), there are no big surprises or new card types included in Paradise Dragona, at least among the cards revealed so far. There are multiple Dragon type Pokemon, hence the set’s name. That’s something that’s always welcome, given that Dragon types are fairly complex to use, but rewarding; they’re always pretty underrepresented in just about all Pokemon sets too, so it’s definitely not a bad thing to have a set that features them fairly heavily.

When Will Paradise Dragona Be Released?

The launch date for Paradise Dragona in Japan is September 13th, 2024. It’s expected that the cards in this set will head West in November, featuring as part of the English language, Surging Sparks set.

As more cards are revealed, we will of course be updating this list; at this stage, we haven’t even seen any of the Secret Rare cards, which are typically some of the most exciting, and certainly the most aesthetically pleasing, cards in any given set!
