Set 6, Secrets of Power, is releasing on the 7th of November. It features a new keyword, Plot, as well as a new mechanic (disclose) and a new token type too. Let’s take a look at each in turn.

How Does the Plot Keyword Work in Star Wars Unlimited?

In a similar way to the Smuggle keyword, Plot allows a player to play a card from their resources. However, Plot can only be used when your Leader is deployed, and you will still have to pay the printed resource cost of the card. Which means that it’s generally only going to be useful once in a game. However, we know that certain card abilities, such as those on an Emperor Palpatine Leader card in Secrets of Power, will bypass this to take advantage of Plot more often.

How Does Disclose Work in Star Wars Unlimited?

A very interesting new mechanic that’ll be popping up on numerous cards in Secrets of Power, disclose fits the set’s theme of knowledge and spying. Disclose means showing your opponent cards from your hand when the mechanic is triggered. In the example of Captain Tycho above, whenever he’s attacked, you may disclose cards from your hand showing the Command and Heroism aspects, in order to heal 1 damage from your base. This could be two cards, each with 1 of the aspect symbols, or a single card showing both Command and Heroism. Ideally, you want to give away less information about what’s in your hand when you’re using Disclose!

What are Spy Tokens in Star Wars Unlimited?

Much like other token types in Star Wars Unlimited, Spy Tokens will enter play when the effects and abilities of other cards “create” them. We can see from the above image that Spy Tokens have 0 Power. However, they gain 2 Power when attacking, thanks to having the Raid 2 keyword.

What Do We Know About Sets Beyond Secrets of Power?

So far, all we have to go on are the names of the next three sets. They are:

  • Star Wars Unlimited set 7: A Lawless Time
  • Star Wars Unlimited set 8: Ashes of the Empire
  • Star Wars Unlimited set 9: Homeworlds

As always, we’ll share more details as they’re revealed. Heading towards the third year of Star Wars Unlimited, it seems that the game is in a healthy state and as popular as ever. Here’s to many more years, and sets, to come for Star Wars Unlimited!
