The latest dual set to be released in Japan, Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia bring Mega Pokémon back to the Pokémon Trading Card Game (or TCG) for the first time in many years. Let’s take a look at which cards fans are most keen to get their hands on in the Mega Brave set.

10. Steelix – Art Rare, 073/063

The tenth card, on our list of the most valuable cards in the Mega Brave set, is Steelix. It’s an art rare variant of the Metal type Pokémon, with a striking, appropriately metallic look. Steelix has perhaps never looked so threatening!

9. Lt. Surge’s Deal – Special Art Rare, 090/063

Art is subjective, so what may be hugely appealing to one person could be completely uninteresting to someone else. I don’t think it’s unfair to say that this Lt. Surge’s Deal card, in its Special Art Rare variant, has deliberately crude art which is likely to prove divisive. Still, it’s obviously not that divisive, given that it’s made it onto the list of the most valuable cards from the Mega Brave set!

8. Mega Mawile ex – Super Rare, 080/063

This Super Rare Mega Mawile ex card is a great example of a minimalist color scheme used effectively on a shiny, foil treated card. It’s a striking image that practically leaps out at the viewer, and it’s the first “Mega” card to make it onto the list. As you’d expect, and soon see, it’s definitely not the last!

7. Bulbasaur – Art Rare, 064/063

Here we have the first card in a triptych of brightly colored cards showcasing the evolutionary line of Bulbasaur. As one of the original three Starter Pokémon, Bulbasaur has always been extremely popular, and this beautiful card is a fantastic way to honor one of the original 151 Pokémon!

6. Ivysaur – Art Rare, 065/063

As you can see from the colors and style of this Ivysaur card, it’s the second part of the aforementioned, themed set of Bulbasaur’s evolutions. Beautiful colors, a playfully dynamic illustration and the shiny foil treatment all combine to make this a very desirable card; of course, you know that we’ll also be seeing the final Bulbasaur evolution popping up shortly too!

5. Mega Lucario ex – Super Rare, 078/063

Fighting type Pokémon Lucario features here on an Art Rare variant of their Mega Lucario ex card. Art Rare cards are known for their minimalist palettes and stylized illustrations; just like the above Mega Mawile ex, and this Mega Lucario ex is no exception.

4. Mega Venusaur ex – Super Rare, 076/063

Another card proving the appeal of the stylized Art Rare cards, this Mega Venusaur ex is a bit more detailed and less restrained in terms of its palette, in comparison to other cards of the same rarity. It’s almost colorful enough that it looks like it could fit alongside the Bulbasaur and Ivysaur cards on this list, but the final card in that set of three has yet to appear here!

3. Mega Absol ex – Special Art Rare, 089/063

Another Mega card, this Mega Absol ex has a brilliantly atmospheric illustration, with the Pokémon looming over the city almost like a classic, comic book-style vigilante! It’s clear to see why this one ranks so highly on the list of the most valuable cards in the Mega Brave set.

2. Mega Venusaur ex – Special Art Rare, 087/063

So here we are with the promised, final card in the trio of colorful Bulbasaur evolutions. This Mega Venusaur ex, along with the Bulbasaur and Ivysaur, is likely to be seriously sought after for a long time, and leaves us wondering if other evolution lines will get the same treatment in upcoming sets.

1. Mega Lucario ex – Special Art Rare, 088/063

The top spot of the most valuable cards from the Mega Brave set goes to the Special Art Rare variant of Mega Lucario ex. I fully expected the Mega Venusaur ex to occupy the number one position. Then again, in a way it has made it to the top, given its appearance on this amazing card’s artwork!
